- The DBR22 features a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 with 705 hp and 555 lb-ft.
- It’s finished in the same shade of green as Aston Martin’s Formula 1 racing car.
- Two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso has signed the car’s dashboard.
In 2022, Aston Martin revealed the DBR22 to celebrate its Q by Aston Martin in-house customization division. Initially thought to be a one-off concept, the British automaker quietly decided to put the DBR22 into production, building just 22 examples for its most exclusive customers. Now, one of these cars is heading to auction this week, with an estimated sale price between €1.9 million ($2.1 million) and €2.1 million ($2.39 million).
Aston Martin has churned out so many limited-run models in recent years that keeping track of them is nearly impossible. Some of the standouts include the V12 Speedster, Victor, Valiant, and the Valour, but we think the DBR22 looks better than all of them. It takes design inspiration from greats, including the Aston Martin DBR1 and DB3S, bringing classic design elements into the modern world.

This DBR22 left Aston’s British facility on 14 December 2023 and has a special order Aston Martin Racing Green 2022/23 paint finish, replicating the color used by Aston Martin during the 2022 and 2023 F1 seasons. The exterior also has loads of exposed carbon fiber accents, black wheels, and several lime green trimmings.
Aston Martin may have had its share of struggles over the last decade, but when it comes to crafting beautiful cars, the brand’s track record remains spotless. The DBR22 is no exception. Whether viewed from the front, side, or rear, it looks nothing short of spectacular.

The cabin is just as breathtaking, as it’s been trimmed in Forest Green leather with AMR Line contrast stitching. It also has heaps of exposed carbon fiber elements, black Alcantara on the steering wheel, and Fernando Alonso’s signature on the dashboard. It perhaps comes as no surprise that it’s been driven just 177 km (110 miles).
Under the hood, the DBR22 is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering a healthy 705 horsepower and 555 lb-ft (752 Nm) of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed transmission, sending power to the rear wheels.
RM Sotheby’s is auctioning off this special Aston Martin, noting that the original buyer splurged an extra €110,000 (about $125,000 at current exchange rates) on customization options. In case you’re feeling the itch to own a piece of Aston Martin’s exclusivity, bidding for this exceptional DBR22 opens later this week.
