Mansory Takes The Audi RS Q8 Beyond Lambo Levels Of Lunacy

When Audi introduced the updated RS Q8 last year, it was claimed to be the most powerful gas-powered Audi Sport model ever produced, with the Performance trim producing up to 631 horsepower and 627 lb-ft. It also clinched the title of being the new SUV King of the Nürburgring, beating the Porsche Cayenne in the process. But if those achievements weren’t enough, Mansory has created the ultimate Audi RS Q8 – and it’s even more powerful than a Lamborghini.

Now producing 986 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque, Mansory’s latest take on the RS Q8 is substantially more powerful than the one from the factory. The German tuner even outdid itself with this version, outgunning its previous work by 217 hp and 185 lb-ft. More importantly, Mansory’s new RS Q8 outshines the Lamborghini Urus SE, which makes 789 hp and 701 lb-ft with its plug-in hybrid setup.

Beefed Up Engine Bay And Forced Induction

Mansory has employed extensive upgrades to the RS Q8 to achieve the astronomical numbers. Using turbochargers with a larger turbine shaft and compressor wheel, the tuning firm also reinforced the thrust bearings and used an enlarged turbocharger inlet. Other modifications include modified boost pressure sensors, a sports air filter, a downpipe without catalytic converter, an upgraded exhaust system, and water-cooled intercoolers.

Just because it’s a supercar doesn’t mean an SUV can’t beat it around the coveted Nürburgring.

Mansory hasn’t rated the performance of its RS Q8, but we won’t be surprised if it’s quicker than the standard model. Of note, the RS Q8 in Performance guise and the Lamborghini Urus SE can both sprint to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The latter, however, has a slightly higher top speed of 194 mph, as opposed to the Audi’s 190 mph.

Inside Is Where The Party’s At

As with most Mansory creations, the work done on the RS Q8 design-wise is nothing short of loud. We’ve seen worse, though, plus the black paint and yellow accents and other body kit bits could be endearing to some. While not listed, we expect the added parts to be made from carbon fiber, given the company’s penchant for using the expensive composite material.

ABT Sportsline has made a limited run of Audi RS Q8 SUVs with more power than necessary, as usual.

Things turn in a very different direction inside, though. With a bright yellow theme – from the quilted mats to the upholstery, up to the leather accents on the dashboard – Mansory has thrown subtlety out the window with this RS Q8. There are bits of carbon fiber inside, too, because of course there are.

Mansory hasn’t disclosed the pricing of its take on the facelifted Audi RS Q8, but given the extensive laundry list of upgrades, including the rework done inside the cabin, we won’t be surprised if it’s something only the one-percenters can afford.
