Someone Scored A Barely Driven 717 hp Challenger Jailbreak For $17K Off MSRP

  • This Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak sold for $64,500 despite having an $81,558 MSRP.
  • It’s powered by monstrous supercharged V8 delivering 717 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque.
  • Only 986 miles were logged on this model, finished in Pitch Black with matching wheels.

With muscle car fever cooling off and Dodge having ended production of its iconic two-door bruiser, some buyers are starting to see surprising deals on what were supposed to be collectible, limited-run models. Earlier this month, we saw one of Dodge’s limited-run Challenger R/T Scat Pack ‘Last Call’ models traded hands for $63,888, or almost $6,000 less than its original MSRP.

Now, another one of these so-called ‘special’ Last Call models has been sold, also for well under its sticker price, not to mention whatever extra the original buyer might have shelled out in dealer markups.

This particular Challenger Last Call model is a desirable Hellcat Jailbreak model with just 986 miles (1,586 km) under its belt. Given that it is a Jailbreak model, it has Dodge’s famed 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a six-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential at the rear wheels, making it one heck of a weapon. The buyer also got one hell of a deal.

A look at the window sticker reveals this Hellcat had an MSRP of $81,558, but it sold for $64,500. The spec here is quite restrained as it’s painted in Pitch Black and sits on matching 20-inch wheels. There’s not even a hint of color on the exterior as the brake calipers are painted in black, too. According to the Bring a Trailer listing, the exterior finish has been protected with PPF, so the new buyer shouldn’t have to worry about minor scratches or stone chips.

Found inside the Dodge are heated and ventilated front seats clad in black Laguna leather with embossed Hellcat logos. It also includes Demonic Red seatbelts and a Harman Kardon sound system.

With 717 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque under the hood, the Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak is an absolute animal. However, it’s not for the faint of heart, and anyone in the market for a V8 Challenger would be wise to know the limits of their driving skills and not overstep them. If not, they could end up getting involved in a devastating crash, as we’ve seen plenty of times in the past.

That said, now might be the right time to go shopping. With Dodge ending the Challenger’s run in favor of electric and six-cylinder-powered Chargers, prices on these outgoing models may keep slipping, at least for the moment.
