The latter has a new home screen, more intuitive operation, and an improved menu structure. There’s also a customizable widget bar, simplified climate controls, improved navigation and an Augmented View function.

The updates continue under the hood as the 2025 M340i is outfitted with a new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that features a 48V mild hybrid system for sharper power delivery and greater efficiency. It produces 386 hp (288 kW / 391 PS) and 398 lb-ft (539 Nm) of torque, which is an increase of 4 hp (3 kW / 4 PS) and 29 lb-ft (39 Nm).

The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in as little as 4.1 seconds when equipped with all-wheel drive. If drivers keep their foot planted, the model will eventually hit an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the 330i has also been reworked as it features redesigned intake ports and combustion chambers as well as “innovations in the areas of camshaft control, injection, ignition system, and exhaust gas routing.” Despite the changes, the mild hybrid powertrain continues to produce 255 hp (190 kW / 259 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

Last but not least, BMW said the sedan has new chassis tuning that “further enhances the balance between sporting capability and comfort.” The company didn’t go into many specifics, but said the model benefits from stiffer mounts that connect the rear dampers to the body. BMW also noted the steering system has been revised to allow for reduced effort in Comfort mode.

A global launch is slated to take place in July, while US-spec models will roll off the assembly line in Mexico this August. When the 3-Series arrives at American dealerships, pricing will begin at $45,500. That’s $1,000 more than its predecessor, but the M340i jumps $2,000 to begin at $59,600.
