2025 Cadillac XT4 Drops Base Trim, Price Hike Possible

Key Takeaways

  • 2025 XT4 updates include dropping the Luxury trim, raising the cost of entry.
  • The Interior now boasts modern style with a Lyriq-inspired 33-inch display and standard Active Safety Package.
  • Despite the lack of a performance upgrade, a price hike is expected, possibly raising all trims by $1,800.

Cadillac has updated the lineup for the 2025 XT4, and according to CarsDirect, it’s dropping the base-level Luxury trim, leaving just the Premium and Sport trims in a similar move to what the company has done with the CT5. Once the trim was dropped on the sedan, the company soon announced a major price hike that made the entry-level model $9,200 more expensive than before. If the XT4 follows in its footsteps, we may be running into a similar situation here.

2025 XT4 Builds Off Of A Winner

For 2024, the XT4 received a comprehensive facelift that added improved styling and new standard features. On the outside, it now features vertical lighting similar to the Lyriq in the front, while the rear mainly stays the same. Power is unchanged, as the model still sports a turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, which is more than adequate for a model of this size.

The inside is finally befitting of the Cadillac badge, as the dashboard has been rearranged to include the 33-inch display also from the Lyriq, making the interior feel more modern. For 2025, the $1,825 Active Safety Package which was previously an option on the Luxury Premium and Sport trims is now standard equipment across the lineup. It brings features like adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, rear pedestrian alert, and a whole lot more ensuring a safer ride.

Added Features Indicate Price Bumps

As this is the only major change, we don’t expect the price bump to be as substantial as the CT5’s, which coincided with a hefty refresh, but it’s safe to believe they’ll raise the prices of the trims around $1,800 given the added standard equipment. This means entry into the model may be more than $5,000 higher than before.

They just don’t make ’em like this anymore.

Unfortunately, Cadillac has said for years the model isn’t getting a V version, which is unfortunate because greater power, poise, and looks in Cadillac’s smallest crossover could be a unique counter to its German rivals.
