  • Automobili Lamborghini partnered with Technics to make DJ equipment.
  • Included in the new set are turntables with direct drive motors, torque adjustment, and pitch control.
  • Buyers also get some limited-edition Lamborghini swag including a record with engine sounds on it.

Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini is teaming up with Technics for a special set of DJ turntables. The audio company has been around for the same 60 years that Lamborghini has and the two share a passion for sound. Now, DJs the world over are about to get access to a very unique bit of technology.

Dubbed the SL-1200M7B, this new product from Technics and Lamborghini is based on the SL-1200MK7/SL that the former already sells. It comes with a cordless direct-drive motor, a torque/brake speed adjustment, a reverse play function, and pitch control. The tonearm leverages high-precision bearings and a conventional S-shape to provide excellent sensitivity and tracking performance.

The turntables come in orange, yellow, or green. Each weighs 21.2 lbs (9.6 kg) and comes with some unique Lamborghini swag. That includes a vinyl record featuring engine sounds from six different Lamborghini V12-powered cars from history: the 400GT 2+2, Miura SV, 25th Anniversary Countach, Diablo 6.0 SE, Murciélago LP 640 and Revuelto. The disc itself features a Revuelto wheel on the face.

Why did these two brands come together for this sort of collaboration? Here’s what Lamborghini says: “The 60-year history of both Automobili Lamborghini and Technics shares similar values in the two companies’ underlying corporate cultures. Both engage in thorough technological development, using unique ideas to provide customers with unforgettable experiences, and are uncompromising in their approach to manufacturing, pursuing an emotional sound that touches every enthusiast’s heart.”

In addition to that, this seems very much up the alley of the average person who posts about their raging bull online. In the same way that those folks love to show off their car, buyers of these turntables will also get some stickers and a slipmat featuring logos from both companies. As of this writing, neither brand has announced pricing but preorders are supposed to start today, May 9th.

When we tried to do just that online it tells us that it’s already sold out. Notably, the turntable that it’s based on sells for £899.00 or about $1,125 each, so don’t expect it to be inexpensive should it go back in stock anytime soon.
