Hyundai Has The Perfect Spot For Its Latest Ultra-Fast N Charging Station

Hyundai has been on a roll recently with its N performance brand, particularly with its go-fast battery-electric vehicles. Apart from the brilliant Ioniq 5 N, the Korean marque has also introduced the Ioniq 6 N at the recently concluded Goodwood Festival of Speed. The hotted-up electric sedan’s debut also came with another announcement: the Hyundai N brand is putting up an ultra-fast charging station at the Nürburgring.

With its renown for its challenging layout and speed, the Nürburgring is actually the perfect spot for Hyundai N-branded charging stations. For the uninitiated, Hyundai’s N stands for two things: the Namyang district in South Korea and the Nürburgring. The former is where the N brand started, the center of Hyundai’s Global R&D Center, while the latter is where Hyundai’s Technical Center is located.

Not The First N-Branded Rapid Charging Station

Details about the fast EV charging station at the Nürburgring are scarce, but it will reportedly follow the format of Hyundai N’s Electric Vehicle Rapid Charging Station that was inaugurated this year at the Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP). That station has two 150kW DC fast chargers with four CCS Type-2 plugs and is located in the SMSP’s paddock area.

It hasn’t been over 10 years since Hyundai first ventured into making fun cars, represented with just one letter.

Designed for both motorsport activities and regular EV use, the Electric Vehicle Rapid Charging Station is permanent and is open to other non-Hyundai EV owners in Australia. It is part of a five-year partnership between Hyundai and SMSP, operated by the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club (ARDC). The partnership also came with an Ioniq 5 N working as the official safety car of the circuit.

Strategically Located To Encourage N-thusiasts

Apart from the one found in Sydney, another EV Rapid Charging Station is found in Queensland, Australia. The locations are, of course, strategic as they allow electric Hyundai N owners to maximize the capabilities of their performance machines without worrying about their battery juice at the end of track days. For the uninitiated, EVs, not just Hyundai N EVs, can be quite fast, but they do consume a lot of battery when pushed hard.

A Hotter Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Track Weapon Is Already Available

Hyundai has just revealed a blazing Ioniq 6 N, but it’s already hotted up with parts that make it a tighter track weapon.

It’s the same philosophy for the upcoming Rapid Charging Station at the Nürburgring, which should encourage Hyundai N owners from around the area to take their mettle to the track. It’s also beneficial for the Hyundai N performance brand since its Technical Center serves at Green Hell serves as the central point of performance development for EVs.
