DAMD revives classic legends through budget-friendly kits that transform the Jimny into G-Wagens and even a forgotten Renault 5 special

The Suzuki Jimny has long been a favorite canvas for quirky transformations, and few do it better than Japanese tuner DAMD. Known for reimagining the Jimny as everything from a baby Mercedes G-Class to a mini Land Rover Defender, DAMD has built a niche around Suzuki’s pint-sized off-roader.
A few years back, they even gave it a Lancia Delta Integrale makeover. Now, DAMD is back with refreshed versions of its G-Class and Defender-inspired kits, this time tailored for the larger five-door Jimny.

The latest iteration of the Defender-style bodykit, affectionately dubbed the Little D, has been updated with a handful of subtle tweaks. It’s now designed specifically for the extended wheelbase five-door model and was unveiled in a deep green paint, perfectly fitting for an off-road-focused vehicle like this.
The kit adds new headlights and turn signals in the style of a classic Defender, along with a blacked-out front grille sporting a familiar green oval badge that echoes Land Rover’s design language.
To complete the look, DAMD crafted a special skid plate for the Jimny, new front and rear bumpers, and distinctive fender flares. The Little D is also equipped with mud flaps and can be optioned with several different wheel designs.

Then there’s the latest version of the Little G. Like its sibling, it’s based on the five-door Jimny and features Mercedes-inspired front and rear fascias, along with custom wheels, distinctive fenders, side steps, and redesigned door trims.
New to the lineup is the Little G Traditional, which comes standard with a simplified steel front bumper fitted with square yellow fog lights. It also sports taillights modeled after older G-Class models and includes a set of mud flaps.

The most unexpected, and arguably most delightful, addition for 2025 is a Jimny body kit inspired by the Renault 5, known as the Saudade. It might just be our favorite of the bunch and includes square headlights like an old Renault, a small black grille, and a black steel bumper with a prominent skid plate.
The Japanese tuning outfit has also designed new wing mirrors for it, added flared arches, and finished the look with a striking set of OZ Racing wheels.
What’s more surprising than the visual impact is the price. Considering the transformative effect of the upgrades, the Saudade kit is pretty affordable. The complete body kit, left unpainted, costs 382,800 yen or just $2,600. Throw in a set of five OZ Racing wheels, and that brings the total price up to 520,000 yen (~$3,500), which still seems like a bargain.
