Koenigsegg only unveiled the Sadair’s Sper hypercar a couple of weeks ago, effectively a more focused version of the Jesko Attack designed to obliterate race tracks, and it’s already racking up records. First, it was the Gotland Ring record in Sweden, and now, at its public debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it’s claimed another record. On the Saturday timed run, the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear became the fastest production car up the Goodwood hill. The time? A cool 47.14 seconds, beating out the Czinger 21C by over a second. Last year, the Czinger set a 48.83-second time to beat the Rimac Nevera, but Koenigsegg has obliterated that.

Trackside To Witness The Run
I was standing trackside at Turn 1 to witness the run, and it was pedal to the metal right from the start for Sadair’s Spear. Markus Lundh was the man behind the wheel, as he was for the Gotland Ring record, and aside from a light touch of the brakes at Turn 2, it was full commitment. The Sadair’s Spear is one of the loudest production cars at the event, thundering up the hill with its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 at full song. Compared to the standard Jesko, it produces an extra 25 horsepower, now pegged at 1,602 hp when fed E85.

We have boots on the ground and are covering all the major debuts and happening for the iconic annual hillclimb.
Helping put all the power down is a new aerodynamic package, and perhaps most crucially, new tires. The rubber is Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R compound, measuring 325/30 at the rear and 275/35 up front.
Koenigsegg Wants More Before The Weekend Is Finished
The run took place during the Saturday Timed Shootout, not the final event, which takes place later today. That means Koenigsegg will be back, looking to go even faster. It looks like a shoo-in for the production class victory, as there are a couple of notable entries missing. These include the Czinger 21C, which isn’t at the show at all this year, and the Rimac Nevera R. Rimac is in attendance, and the Nevera R is running up the hill, but only on demo runs. The standard Nevera is a previous production record holder, so it’s surprising not to see the Nevera R trying to reclaim that. On Day 1 of the Festival, Rimac announced the Nevera R had reclaimed the 0-400-0 km/h record from Koenigsegg, so it seems like a missed opportunity to beat Koenigsegg yet again.
So what does Koenigsegg face for the win? In the production class, the Mustang GTD is competing, as are the Koenigsegg CC850, Ferrari Roma Coupe, and Alpine A110 R. But Koenigsegg’s Saturday time placed it third overall, behind only the Ford Supertruck (43.49 seconds) and Subaru’s Project Midnight (45.46 seconds). It’s unlikely Koenigsegg will beat those highly modified entries, but anything can happen on the Goodwood hill.
