Porsche’s cars are expensive, both in base price and their myriad of optional extras. Occasionally, the automaker releases a value package that combines a lot of the most popular options at a price lower than you’d order them a la carte. The latest is this, the 2026 Taycan Black Edition.
Available for the base rear-drive sedan, and the all-wheel drive Taycan 4 and 4S, the new Black Editions have lots of black accents, naturally, but lots of more substantive equipment. Most notable is the 105.0-kWh Performance Battery Plus replacing the standard 97.0-kWh battery, normally a $5,780 option. You also get standard 21-inch wheels, metallic paint, decals on front doors, and SportDesign front and rear fascias to differentiate the Black Edition from standard Taycan models.

For tech, you also get 14-way adjustable seats, blind-spot monitoring, surround-view cameras with active park assist, HD Matrix Design LED headlights, Bose surround sound, little puddle lights that project the Porsche logo on the ground when the doors are open, and more. Inside, there’s Porsche crests embossed into the headrests, Black Edition doorsills, and the Black Edition logo embossed on the center console.
Most of the Taycan’s black, white, silver, and gray paint options are gratis, but if you want some color, you’ll have to pay more. And naturally, you can further customize your car with all sorts of options from Porsche Exclusiv Manufaktur, including Paint-to-Sample. Though that might defeat the purpose of buying this value package in the first place.
This is the first time Porsche has used the “Black Edition” moniker since 2016, when it offered Black Edition versions of the 911, Boxster, and Cayman. More recently, it’s offered the Cayenne and Panamera as Platinum Editions with similar standard equipment. GTS used to be something of a value package, too, but now, it’s more of its own thing.

We don’t know exactly how much of a value the Taycan Black Editions are, as Porsche isn’t announcing pricing just yet. To hazard a guess, that fact might have something to do with the, erm, ongoing tariff situation. We should find out closer to their arrival in the US in the fall.
