One of the streamers reportedly tried to sit in a Formula 1 car that was on display

- Three streamers were arrested after being accused of damaging an F1 car.
- The incident happened during the British Grand Prix on the July 4 fan event.
- Police detained the men for 15 hours before releasing them without charge.
A Formula 1 car is built to handle brutal G-forces, high-speed corners, and intense pressure during a race. What it apparently can’t handle is someone trying to climb into it at a fan event.
During last weekend’s British Grand Prix, police arrested three well-known British streamers after one allegedly caused around £30,000 (roughly $41,000 at current exchange rates) in damage to a display F1 car, according to the Daily Mail.

The incident took place on Friday, July 4, while streamers AngryGinge, Chazza, and SamHam were filming content at the race. In a widely circulated clip, Chazza, dressed in a black T-shirt and hat, approaches a pink BWT Racing Point F1 car and begins interacting with it.
He places his right foot on one of the carbon fiber bargeboards, and almost immediately, a large cracking sound is heard. One of the streamers can then be heard saying, “I think the suspension on the car has just gone.” Despite this, Chazza continued to climb onto the car, attempting to slide into the cockpit.
Curiously, in a YouTube video posted by AngryGinge, no cracking sound can be heard, so it may have been added in on the Twitter clip or removed from the YouTube video.

Thrown In A Cell
Officers from the Northamptonshire Police arrested the three streamers on the spot for suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle. They were then transported to a police station 17 miles away and locked away for 15 hours before being released. Police soon released the streamers with no further action.
“Officers carried out initial inquiries, and suspects were identified,” a Northamptonshire Police spokesperson told TalkSport. “Three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle and taken into police custody. Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, all three men were released with no further action.”
Following their release, AngryGinge took to TikTok to vent about the experience, appearing visibly frustrated by what had happened.
“For sitting in a car, they got us, you don’t do that at F1,” he said. “They locked us up for watching somebody else sitting in a car – they locked SamHam up for watching somebody else sit in a car. They locked Chazza up for sitting in a car, criminal damage, they tried to say. 30 grand, they tried to say…”
