An ultra-low-mile Dodge Demon 170 just sold for far less than expected, showing how fast the market is shifting
July 9, 2025 at 13:50

- A Challenger Demon 170 with 45 miles just sold for $128,000 on Bring a Trailer.
- The sale price was only $6,000 over its original MSRP, far below past peaks.
- Dodge built 3,300 Demon 170s, this example being number 1,814 off the line.
There’s never been a more tempting moment to pick up a barely driven Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. Just a short time ago, these pavement-shredding monsters were commanding prices well north of $200,000, as flippers were having a field day slapping absurd markups on anything with a supercharger and a VIN.
Granted, with 1,025 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 1.66 seconds on a prepped surface, the Dodge Demon 170 is less of a car and more of a middle finger to physics, but still $200K was absurd. But the bubble is showing signs of deflation. That’s unwelcome news for current owners, but a golden opportunity for anyone looking to add a Demon 170 to their garage.

This month, a Pitch Black Demon 170 sold on Bring a Trailer for $128,000. Make no mistake, that’s still a lot of money for a car that effectively dates back to 2008, but it was only $6,000 more than the original MSRP. Compared to the steep markups these cars were pulling not long ago, that price feels almost reasonable.
Making this example especially desirable is that it was mintier than a pack of gum in a nun’s purse. It’s only been driven 45 miles (72 km), which means it’s seen more trailer time than actual tarmac.
Dodge built 3,300 examples of the Demon, and a plaque on the dash of this one reveals it is number 1,814. Speaking of the interior, the cabin of this 170 stands out from most others we’ve seen. The front and rear seats are clad in Demonic Red Laguna leather complemented by matching red seat belts.

As part of the Premium Group package, it also features carbon fiber trim, a suede headliner, a hand-stitched dash, and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Not that you’ll ever hear it over the screaming V8, but hey, it’s there.

Like all other Demon 170s, the car’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 delivers 1,025 hp and 945 lb-ft when fueled with E85. Power is sent to the rear wheels thanks to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.
With many people viewing the Demon 170 as the final and ultimate version of the iconic Dodge Challenger, the car’s new owner may keep it locked away to retain as much of its value as possible. However, we hope they will actually drive the car and enjoy the monumental V8.
