He Drove This Corvette 1,600 Miles And Lost Over $20,000

  • A 2023 Corvette Stingray Convertible sold for $71,860 with only 1,600 miles on it.
  • The car had a $92,720 MSRP and was previously listed for over $94,000 in 2023.
  • It still carries a factory warranty, offering added peace of mind for its next owner.

Even with the spotlight shifting to performance-heavy models like the ZR1X, ZR1, Z06, and E-Ray, the C8 Corvette Stingray still holds its ground as a compelling sports car. It may no longer be the center of attention, but the so-called “base” model continues to offer a strong mix of performance, style, and value.

Better yet, low-mileage examples are now showing up below their original sticker price, often with factory warranty still in place, making this a smart time to shop.

Watch: Can The Top Mustang Beat The Base Corvette Stingray?

Earlier this week, a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible 2LT Z51 was listed for auction on Bring a Trailer and traded hands for $71,860. That sounds like a great deal, particularly since it originally had a sticker price of $92,720. It’s also a rather compelling spec that has been driven just 1,600 miles (about 2,500 km), meaning it’s as good as new.

A Well-Sorted Stingray at a Discount

The first thing we like about this Stingray is the color. It’s painted in Chevy’s gorgeous Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat that extends across the front bumper, side air vents, and the rear grilles, like you’ll find on an E-Ray. While some don’t like these color-matched accents, we think they work well on the Stingray.

Contrasting the stunning paint color are Bright Silver 19- and 20-inch wheels clad in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. As this Stingray has the Z51 Performance Package, it includes revised suspension tuning, a front splitter, larger brakes, a rear spoiler, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a better exhaust that adds 5 hp.

Inside, this Stingray goes for a more subdued aesthetic. The cabin is finished entirely in Jet Black leather with contrast stitching. It’s a simple, classic interior that balances the car’s more eye-catching exterior.

Interestingly, this car has already had a brief history on BaT. Back in January 2023, its original owner listed it with just 329 miles on the clock. Bidding reached $94,000, slightly above MSRP at the time, but the seller’s reserve wasn’t met. Now, two and a half years later, the same car has changed hands at a price over $22,000 lower.
