Honda wants you to feel like a movie star at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. It plans to embrace the silver screen for the theme of its booth, but it’s what will be in the booth that will grab the automotive paparazzi’s attention. Honda plans to show its next EV, send its next sports car up the famous hillclimb, and amid all that will be a brand-new concept car.

We’re not sure Honda actually knows what “moviegoers” want these days. Perusing the US lineup, the HR-V is no Marvel movie. Then there’s the weird robot lawnmower Honda calls Miimo, saying it’s “every movie hero’s favorite sidekick.” That assumes movie heroes have lawns, but we’ll let that slide for now.

Super EV Concept Is An Itty-Bitty Electric

Details on the new concept aren’t known, but we do have some information to share. It’s called the Super EV Concept, which is some sort of “all-electric urban concept vehicle” according to Honda. At face value, it sounds a lot like a replacement for the Honda e City Electric. But as cool as that car was, we wouldn’t call it super.

Fortunately, Honda did show one photo of the camouflaged Super EV Concept, and it sure looks like a tiny city car. It resembles a European A-segment vehicle, similar to the Volkswagen Up! or Fiat Panda. It’s tiny, boxy, and, we assume, electric.

Honda’s Prelude will be fancy. Perhaps not quite Acura-level, but certainly stylish.

The concept has box-flare fenders, which makes it look cool for this segment. It probably won’t go on sale in the US, though. Much like the now-dead Honda e, this little car is far too little for the land of the Suburban. It will go up the hill at Goodwood, which could mean some hilarious tip-over action if the driver decides to go a little too hard.

Civic Type R Ultimate And Nigel Mansell In An F1 Car Will Run The Hill

Honda will also have the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition at the event. It will run the hill climb, but there will also be some static display fun. Honda will let you shoot your own movie trailer using an extended reality stage. The same stage will let you play around with a HondaJet, too.

The Honda 0 electric will be there. The wedge-shaped 0 (that’s zero) EV is our look at Honda’s next-generation of electric vehicles – the ones that will go on sale here and that aren’t secretly a Chevy Equinox underneath.

Last, but certainly not least, is another US-bound model. The Prelude hybrid with Honda’s new S+ shift system designed to add some driver involvement to hybrid cars will be there. And it will make the climb, so listen for the fake shifts to during the run.

Honda’s motorsports fleet at the event will have some icons, too. To help mark 75 years of Formula 1, Honda will bring along the 1,500-horsepower Williams FW11, and none other than Nigel Mansell, the greatest mustache in motorsports, will pilot it up the hill. There will also be a special CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP to commemorate John McGuinness and his 100th start at the Isle of Man TT. And for two-wheel fans of the off-road variety, the 2024 Dakar-winning CRF450 Rally will be on hand, too.
