Only 19 of These Nissan Restomods Exist and One Is For Sale Now

  • The car has been resprayed in Midnight Purple III and has a host of carbon fiber parts.
  • Each Clubman Race Spec model is rebuilt at Nismo’s Omari factory in Japan.
  • Nismo offers similar Clubman Race Spec rebuilds for the R32, R33, and R33 models.

When it comes to Nissan Skylines, any R34 GT-R is special, but if you’ve got a thing for rarities, the V-Spec II is the one to covet. Still, there’s an even rarer breed out there, one so elusive that only 19 examples are thought to exist. Enter the Clubman Race Spec, a model so exclusive it barely ever sees the light of day.

So, what do you do if you’re in Dubai and one of these mythical machines happens to be up for sale at a dealership that usually specializes in European supercars and hypercars? Well, you take a moment to bask in its glory, for starters.

What makes the Clubman Race Spec special? Well, each example built is essentially a restomod conceived by Nismo itself. If you have the money and a pristine GT-R, you can send it to Nismo’s Omari factory, and the automaker will completely rebuild the car, upgrading it with new parts and catering to virtually any request from the customer.

This particular car is equipped with Nissan’s acclaimed R2 engine. It retains the same 2.8-liter capacity as the original, but the twin-turbocharged straight-six has been completely rebuilt with only the finest parts, including carbon fiber air intakes. The R2 engine has been tuned to deliver 450 hp and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque while coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.

Like all other GT-Rs from this era, Nissan’s superb ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel drive system transmits power to the ground.

Visually, this Clubman Race Spec model includes the same bodykit as the R34 GT-R Z-Tune, the rarest of all R34 models. . To complete the look, it’s been resprayed in Midnight Purple III, arguably Nissan’s best and most iconic color. Let’s face it, if you’re going to own one of these, it might as well shine like royalty.

F1rst Motors, the Dubai dealership selling the car, notes that the odometer reads 40,747 km (25,319 miles). What’s unclear is whether that’s the total mileage on the chassis or just since Nismo gave it a complete overhaul. Either way, the car looks nearly flawless, sitting pretty on a set of stunning forged wheels with gold brake calipers to match.

While the dealership hasn’t disclosed a specific price, don’t expect it to come cheap. A car like this could easily fetch $800,000 or more, and if the right buyer comes along, this Skyline could hit or even exceed the $1 million mark.
