Porsche Creates The Most Canadian 911 For A Good Cause

There’s no shortage of special edition Porsches, but they usually pay tribute to famous race cars and past road cars. This unique example, though, is based around our neighbor to the north, Canada. It was commissioned by Porsche Cars Canada and the Porsche Sonderwunsch division in honor of the Porsche Experience Center Toronto. It would’ve been easy to jump on loads of Canadian clichés in its creation. You won’t find anything about poutine, hockey, maple syrup, or moose, on this car, just in our slightly silly introduction. Instead, it’s a seriously sharp sports car inside and out with surprisingly subtle nods to the country, despite being vividly red and white. It’s even for sale, and some of the proceeds will go to a good cause.

It’s Delightful Down To The Details

There’s no missing the two-tone red-and-white paint scheme. It also is a paint scheme, not a sticker package, with the different colors and graphics being painted. It has an interesting offset split, making the left side of the car white, and the right side red, and each has logos in the opposite color. You might not even realize the Canadian connection if you don’t see the maple leaf painted on the roof. The only other obvious tip-off would be the maple leaf center lock caps. The color theme even goes as far as having matching accents for each side on the headlight housings and wheel lips.

The interior is possibly the best part, though. The sporty bucket seats feature “Pepita” upholstery, which we love in its normal black-and-white pattern. Porsche made a special red-and-white version for this car, though, and it pops! Porsche should seriously consider offering more color variations on its signature fabric when it looks this good. The holes in the seatbacks are also themed to the color scheme, with one painted red, and the other white. The key matches, as well, and the door sills have carbon fiber covers with the Toronto skyline finished in the car’s colors. On top of everything else, it comes with a matching watch and a scale model of the Porsche Experience Center.

Proceeds Go To A Canadian Charity

The car will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s, starting today and ending on July 1, which is Canada Day. Some of the proceeds will be given to a charity called Campfire Circle. The organization was formed from two similar camps that started in the mid 1980s, and it runs camp programs for hospitalized kids, both those that can leave temporarily or those who are stuck in the hospital. Naturally, the auction is targeted more towards Candian buyers, but Americans are welcome to bid as well. However, if the car goes to an American buyer, that person would need to make some changes to certain parts to import and drive it on the street in the US, and that wouldn’t be covered by the purchase price.
