Limited Edition Jaguar F-Pace SVR Ultimate Edition Is Limited To One Country Only

Jaguar is about to take nine decades of gas-engine history and innovation and risk it all to become an all-electric brand. But it’s not going to ignore that history, and it certainly isn’t going to let it go gently into that good night.

No, Jaguar is going to make some very brash and very loud special edition models. Like the Jaguar F-Pace SVR 575 Ultimate Edition. A last run of the bonkers SUV that will only be sold in Australia.

SVR 575 Ultimate Edition Is As Bright As The Sun

The F-Pace SVR 575 is a roaring wildcat, not a brooding house kitten. It uses Jaguar’s 5.0-liter supercharged V8 to wonderful effect. Delivering 567 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque (the 575 is PS), the SVR 575 can rocket from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 178 miles per hour.

Jag has offered the F-Pace SVR in the US, and with a few exceptions, it comes exclusively with some boring exterior finishes. Australia, however, gets something a lot more interesting. The Ultimate Edition of the SVR will be available in the retina-searing Sorento Yellow Gloss finish. If that’s too much, Jag will also offer British Racing Green, white, and satin black.

The F-Pace SVR has flown under the radar for too long – but it deserves its day in the spotlight.

The SVR 575 Ultimate comes with new wheels: 22-inch forged hoops with a diamond-turned gloss black finish. It will also include tinted glass, a sliding panoramic roof, and a head-up display.

Other changes include semi-aniline leather on the 14-way adjustable performance seats; these aren’t the same seats you’ll find in the SVR offered in the US and elsewhere. There is carbon fiber trim on the inside, and the exterior has plenty of SVR badges.

Last Gas(p) Jag Isn’t Cheap

This ultra-bright (if you want) Jaguar SUV comes with a serious price tag, though. With just 60 copies made in all four colors combined, it will be hard to get. Plus, it has to be shipped to the other side of the world and converted to be driven upside-down. That’s why the standard US-spec F-Pace SVR stickers for $95,075 while the Australian Ultimate Edition runs $182,235 (AUD). Though in USD, that’s $119,050, so maybe it’s not such a bad deal.

For many, this could be the last real Jaguar. A final gas-powered farewell to the brand that has been selling cars with some incredibly sweet engines since 1935.

Jaguar Is Doubling Down On Everything That Made It Controversial

Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover insists that the company’s future will be electric.

On the other hand, if you’re that much of a purist, then Jaguar already died. It was over when the F-Type coupe was discontinued last year, the brand’s last gas car.

For everyone else, Jaguar is about to start on a new adventure. Like it or not, the Type 00 promises to offer presence. That’s something Jag models have been about for almost as long as the company has built vehicles. We’re looking forward to seeing the latest Jaguar on the road, even if it comes solely with electric motors instead of six or twelve pumping pistons under the hood.
