While other performance car companies, like Porsche, race to reverse their EV plans, the CEO of Ferrari believes that not only will customers of the sibling to the Purosangue embrace its EV, but it will also become a classic. The company boss made the comments at Motor Valley Fest 2025, a celebration of the Modena region, which is home to some of the greatest performance and passion-inspiring automakers in the world.

“To say that the Ferrari collector is not interested in electric cars is not true. There are customers who say “what’s the problem?”. Ferrari has a soul and I am convinced that even with electric cars they will be able to do something unique.”

Ferrari EV Should Be Revealed In October
Ferrari is expected to reveal its first EV in October, with deliveries to start next fall. Our spy photographers spotted the SUV multiple times already as development continues to prepare it. The EV has been called the Ferrari Elettrica by executives and at its shareholder meetings. It really just means Ferrari Electric, but with cars like the Maserati Quattroporte having no issue using otherwise mundane Italian words as their name, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise. It also fits with Ferrari’s other SUV, the Purosangue.
The company is developing all of the major electrical components in-house to help make sure that it really is a Ferrari. That includes motors, batteries, inverters, and software. A new factory, which started construction last year, will build the model.

Ferrari’s Sexiest Feature Of Yesteryear Could Be Making A Comeback
Once you’ve hit your peak, it’s time to play the classics.
Company head of product marketing Emanuele Carando has said that the new Ferrari EV will sound “authentic.” “You will see. You will hear,” he said, insisting that it will deliver the emotions you expect from a vehicle wearing the prancing horse badge, though those emotions will be different from its other models.
“We didn’t communicate we’ll move 100% to electric vehicles, but we only said we offer a new technology because we think there is an opportunity to deliver new driving thrills thanks to that technology,” said Carando. It’s certainly a challenge for a company where some are still not happy that there are V6 engines in the lineup, even if they’re in cars that make 1,184 horsepower.
Ferrari Hoping For Rolls-Like EV Success
It might come as a surprise after other pricey EVs have floundered, but there seems to be a place for the tech at the top of the market. Not just in China, where EVs rule, but around the world.
Just ask Rolls-Royce. The British luxury car builder has already had to increase production as the electric Spectre coupe is suddenly its second best-selling model, beating the Cullinan SUV. Rolls plans another EV this year, showing that at the absolute top of the market, buyers aren’t afraid of electric vehicles. Then again, when your road trips are a drive to the airport for your private plane and you have half a dozen other vehicles in the garage, what’s stopping you?
