The 2025 Honda Prologue is a better EV than it was last year, despite retaining its price tag. It received more power and better range earlier this year, all while retaining its price tag, making it a good deal in itself even before discounts. However, current incentives show that those who have been eyeing the GM-developed Honda EV will gain more this time around, with up to $16,500 worth of incentives waiting at the hood.
The latest of the incentives was a $2,000 discount applicable to those leasing and buying through Honda Financial Services. That amount adds to the current $3,500 incentive available nationwide, the $1,000 conquest rebate if you’re coming from other brands, and the $7,500 federal tax credits. Buyers from California and other similar ZEV states can maximize the rebates, with an additional $2,500 for both leasing and financing customers.
Financing And Leasing Sounds Good With These Rebates
With a starting price of $47,400 before delivery, the Prologue becomes an almost $30,000 ($30,900, to be exact) EV with all the incentives applied. That’s a big deal, considering that the cheapest electric SUV in America this year has a price tag north of $33,000. Of note, up until July 7, those financing can also enjoy 0.99% APR for purchases of up to 60 months.

The Prologue Forgets That Hondas Should Be Fun To Drive
Is Honda forgetting that it’s a brand associated with cars that are fun to drive?
The bevy of incentives makes the Prologue an attractive vehicle to lease. For example, the Prologue EX, with an MSRP of $51,850 including destination, is available at $259 per month for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing in California. This comes with a 10,000-mile allowance per year, and with the conquest incentive, amounting to an effective lease price of $370 per month.
A Better Vehicle To Lease Versus Other Honda SUVs
Given the numbers above, the 2025 Prologue is comparably better to lease than other Honda SUVs. The 2025 Honda HR-V LX has a lease of $289 per month with $3,299 due at signing, resulting in an effective monthly cost of $381. Similarly, the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport leases for $369 per month with $4,199 down, bringing its effective monthly cost to $486.

Future Honda Models Worth Waiting For
These Hondas will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This year is looking to be good for the Prologue, just as it was last year. Honda sold 33,017 units of the Prologue in 2024, which was comparatively better than rival EVs like the Toyota bZ4X, which has recently been updated to become simply the Toyota bZ. We should be seeing similar incentives for the electric Honda in the years to come, especially as its facelift arrives in 2028. After that, the future of the model is uncertain due to GM and Honda parting ways in cheap EV development.
