Sometimes, no news is good news, and for the Kia EV9 electric SUV, this is one of those times. The family-friendly three-row electric SUV enters its third year with the same starting price as year one. Kia has managed to hold the line on pricing for its award-winning EV, at least on entry-level models. Once you get higher into the range, there are some price changes, though even those changes are not in the direction you had expected.
2026 Kia EV9 Costs The Same Or Less Than Last Year
The 2026 Kia EV9 lineup starts with the $54,900 EV9 Light Short Range model. That price is the same as for model years 2024 and 2025. The shocker, though, comes with the Light Long Range. At $57,900, that version of the EV is actually $2,000 less than last year. Even more surprisingly, it offers more range.
Okay, the range increase is a small one. The 2026 model will go one mile further on a charge, now totaling 305. The Wind and Land trims get a similarly small increase, from 280 to 283 miles.
The EV9 Wind comes with the same starting price as last year. It will run $63,900. The Land model, at $68,900, is $1,000 less than last year.
At the top of the range, the EV9 GT-Line is also significantly cheaper. It drops from $73,900 to $71,900. The GT-Line with its 379 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque total output gets a range increase of 10 miles, now able to hit 280 on a charge.
There are some other changes for 2026.

Kia is offering a Nightfall Edition on the Land model in both six and seven-passenger configurations. In typical fashion, Nightfall means black trim. The mirror caps and door sills, as well as the wheels, will all be painted black. Those wheels are 20s instead of the 19s on other Land trim vehicles. Nightfall models will get a new Roadrider Brown exterior color and a new seat stitch pattern.
GT-Line models will also get some new paint options. Two-tone options for white or gray, both with a black roof, join the list.

Still Lowest-Priced Real Three-Row EV
As one of the only electric three-row EVs on the market, the EV9 is still one of the best. It offers pricing much lower than its cross-ocean rival, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz or its cross-town rival, the Hyundai Ioniq 9. The former starts at around $5,000 more than the Kia, while the latter starts at around $3,000 more.
Though the Ioniq 9 offers more range on every available trim. The shortest-range Ioniq 9 can do 311 miles, and it tops out at 335.
