It’s a battle of two of the quickest and fastest cars in the world; a drag race over a half-mile between the Koenigsegg Regera and the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. The owner of both cars has rented out the Kennedy Space Center, one of the longest and best (for top-speed racing) runway surfaces in the world. To show you that no matter how impressive your YouTube channel is, you’re never going to be at this level. No, wait, that’s not it. The point is to show which one of these hypercars gets the glory and which one has to live with the shame of coming in second.

The two cars are both part of The Hamilton Collection. The owner, Steve Hamilton, has an incredible fleet of cars, one he now uses not just to drive quickly but also to help out with charity events to raise money for important causes. Basically, these hypercars do good when they aren’t blasting down empty runways.
Regera vs. Chiron Is A 3,080-Horsepower Showdown
This video brings two of his cars out to plan. The first is a Koenigsegg Regera. The 1,500-horsepower Swedish hypercar powered by a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 and a trio of electric motors. Yes, it’s a PHEV, which helps it reach that impressive speed and performance.
The second is a Chiron Super Sport. A version of the 300-mph record-setter that came with a little more leather, new wheels, and a top speed limited to 273 mph. Despite the lower top speed, the car still had the 1,580-horsepower version of the Bugatti quad-turbo W16 engine.

BREAKING: Koenigsegg Regera Retakes 0-249-0-MPH Record
The King is back, and has set 6 records in the process.
Steve was behind the wheel of his Chiron SS, but he had a ringer for the Regera in the form of Markus Lundh. Lundh is a factory Prototype Test Driver for Koenigsegg, and he has been behind the wheel for several of Koenigsegg’s record drives.
When the two cars line up on the starting line for the first time, they’re bringing with them the combined horsepower of more than 18 Toyota Corollas. This is two bazookas at a knife fight.
AWD Hypercars Mean No Drama, Just Fast
Because the Chiron is AWD, and Lundh is a pro, they take off nearly silently, with just a squeak of the tires. For two cars that are this fast, the drives seem almost dull. The in-car videos show that the two drivers are mostly just sitting there. But just sitting there is misleading when you cover the quarter-mile in under 10 seconds and at a speed of more than 150 miles per hour.
The second run takes the cars for a half-mile distance. They once again launch with barely a sound. This time, the Koenigsegg gets the jump on the line as the two cars blast toward the horizon.

The End Of An Era Has Arrived: Meet The Last-Ever Bugatti Chiron
The dynasty of W16-powered hypercars is coming to an end soon, and this is the last Chiron to get the iconic engine. It’s been one helluva ride.
It takes the two cars less than 15 seconds to cover the half-mile. By that point, both are at nearly 200 miles per hour. Of course, only one car can win this race. We’re not going to spoil it for you, so take a gander and enjoy the drive.
