Ford Will Extend Its Employee Pricing Deal Thanks To Impressive Sales

Ford’s employee pricing is proving to be quite popular. According to a tweet from CEO Jim Farley, the company has sold more than 150,000 vehicles since announcing its “From America, For America” pricing plan in April, which offers employee discounts almost every Ford product. In fact, the incentive is doing so well that the Blue Oval has decided to extend it until July 4 – appropriately enough – meaning customers have an extra month than initially expected to get into a Maverick, Mustang, or Mach-E at a discount.

The pricing plan, revealed in response to President Trump’s sweeping tariffs that took effect the same day, was meant to offset some of the added cost its customers might incur if purchasing a vehicle sourced from Canada or Mexico. But the employee pricing also applies to the company’s American-built cars – the aforementioned Mustang and the wildly popular F-150, for example. Savvy shoppers might be able to cut a pretty decent deal on those models since they aren’t as affected by tariffs as the Mexico-built Bronco Sport and Escape crossovers.

The bonus cash has resulted in a lot more dealer activity. According to Ford Authority, retailers reported “double-digit” increases in foot traffic, meaning the the company’s patriotic advertising campaign and publicized discounts are having some positive effect on consumers. In terms of hard pricing numbers, Ford has made it abundantly clear that its dealers can choose whether or not to participate in the program, and that they set the final vehicle price. But in theory, the incentive means a customer can pay the invoice cost, plus a small dealer fee and the cost of any advertising associated with the particular car. In the case of a well-equipped F-150 XLT, the invoice price is approximately $3,500 less than the suggested retail price, meaning customers could get a discount of around $3,000.

The employee discount comes before any fees an independent retailer might charge, however. That means that any mandatory maintenance packages, VIN etching, “nitrogen-filled tires,” and other dealer add-ons might still be part of the final sale price. Such dealer tactics aren’t new, and the Biden administration attempted to curtail them with a junk-fee ban, but it was overturned in court earlier this year. And as Carscoops reported last month, the From America, For America deal replaced a few cash and financing incentives that might have been better for some buyers.

Not Included In The Deal

And finally, the employee pricing doesn’t apply to every car that Ford sells. The Raptor family (F-150, Ranger, and Bronco) don’t qualify, nor do low-volume specialties like the Mustang Dark Horse, the GTD supercar, and the Bronco Stroppe Edition. Recently redesigned 2025 models like the Expedition, its Lincoln Navigator cousin, and the heavy-hauling Super Duty are exempt from the incentive, as are commercial vehicles like the E-Series van and F-59 stripped chassis. But while that sounds like a lot of restrictions, it still leaves a few very popular products on the table.
