Introduced in 2018, the fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 has become long in the tooth. Despite that, the compact SUV remained a bestseller for Toyota in the US last year, even outselling America’s favorite truck, the Ford F-150. But if you’re getting tired of the current model, fret not. An all-new model is about to be revealed soon, with Toyota already starting the teasing game.
The first teaser images don’t give too much, though. Despite Toyota not explicitly saying that it’s the new RAV4, the words that came with the teaser do describe what the RAV4 is: Get ready to stand out in all-new style, from urban streets to outdoor retreats. The images reflect that sentence, with the SUV shown through aerial shots in various settings – the snow, within urban neighborhoods, and on a mountain pass.
First Official Look Inside And Out
Toyota simultaneously released interior teasers for the upcoming sixth-generation RAV4. The images show a three-spoke tiller, with two separate screens behind it. Unfortunately, the screens aren’t integrated within the dashboard, which appears to have a two-tone finish. There’s also a photo of the center console, showing a tiny gear shifter instead of the traditional type. A white option could become available for the seats based on the images.

As for the exterior, there isn’t any luck, except for the fact that the three aerial images show two finish options – one with a solid paint color, while the other has a two-tone black roof option. But if you really want to spoil yourself as a future RAV4 buyer, a leak from China could give you a preview, showing the RAV4 following the Camry midsize sedan in terms of styling.
We’ll Know More In A Few Days
In terms of powertrains, it’s anybody’s guess at this point. The RAV4’s current lineup consists of pure ICE, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid models. If the RAV4 were to follow the Camry in this regard, we could see Toyota dropping the pure ICE model, at least for the American market. But one thing’s for sure – a hybrid setup is the way to go for Toyota’s popular model, given its tested popularity in the US.

Thankfully, we won’t wait long until Toyota reveals the 2026 RAV4, its most important vehicle nameplate. The automaker said that the unveiling will happen on May 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM JST, which will be 9:00 PM EST on May 20, 2025. It’s unclear when the new-generation model will hit the market, but given its distinct popularity among Americans – moving 475,193 units in 2024 – we’re almost sure it will arrive this year for the 2026 model year.
