Minivan Rams Motorcyclist Off Road In Shocking Hit-and-Run

  • Police are searching for a Kia Carnival after what appears to be a road rage incident.
  • Dashcam footage shows the minivan hitting a motorcyclist and pushing him off the road.
  • Authorities describe the Kia driver as a man between 30 and 40 with a black beard.

Road rage is never a smart move, but it’s especially questionable when one of the participants is on a motorcycle. That was the case on May 5 in what authorities believe was a road-rage-fueled hit-and-run around 6:15 a.m. Video footage appears to show a Kia Carnival minivan deliberately ramming a motorcyclist off the road before fleeing the scene.

The incident took place in Beaverton, Oregon, on Highway 26, and dashcam footage captures the final moments of the interaction. In the video, the motorcyclist and the minivan driver are seen side by side in lanes one and two. The motorcyclist gestures toward the open passenger window of the Kia, with both vehicles matching each other’s speed.

Suddenly, the Kia Carnival driver swerves sharply to the right, striking the motorcyclist and pushing him through lane two and into lane three. Only after the collision does the Kia driver correct course, settling into lane three. The rider is pushed off the road and slides onto the shoulder. Meanwhile, the Kia driver moves back into lane one and drives off, leaving the scene.

According to Beaverton Police, the rider sustained serious injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment. They say the Kia driver is a man between 30 and 40 years old with a black beard. Authorities are still searching for that individual and are hoping the public can help. They ask that anyone who saw the incident or who knows about the crash to call 971-253-9710.

Commenters on the department’s Facebook page claim the Kia driver had cut off the motorcyclist multiple times before the crash. One person, who said they were there, described the sequence: “The SUV almost hit the bike earlier while switching lanes. The bike was behind the SUV, switched to the middle lane, flipped the driver off, and exchanged words since the SUV’s passenger window was down. Then the SUV tried to kill him.”

While the true events leading up to the crash are still under investigation, one thing is clear; road rage never pays off. When the police manage to catch up with the driver of the Kia, they’ll likely be facing some very serious charges, ones that could change their life forever.

Holy smokes
