Ferrari’s newest front-engine supercar boasts one of the most potent naturally aspirated V12 engines on the market today. However, according to aftermarket tuning specialist Novitec, the factory exhaust system might leave some enthusiasts wanting more auditory drama.
To address this, the German company has launched performance exhaust upgrades designed specifically to unlock the full voice of the V12 in the Ferrari 12Cilindri, which you can hear in the video at the bottom of this article, and it’s a massive difference from the original soundtrack.

The 12Cilindri itself is an engineering marvel. Debuting in May 2024, it replaces the 812 Superfast line. Its heart is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, derived from the unit in the limited-edition 812 Competizione. Yet, despite being named after its glorious engine, the factory sound might be too subdued.
Unleashing the V12 Symphony
Novitec aims to rectify this perceived lack of volume as it did with the Purosangue, with two distinct performance exhaust systems: Sport and Race. Both options are engineered to provide what Novitec calls a “powerful, unfiltered and unique sound experience.”
They feature electronically controlled valves, allowing the driver to adjust the sound level and avoid the ire of their neighbors when arriving home late at night or leaving early in the morning. Both systems also come with special Novitec-designed tailpipes integrated into the rear bumper.

The company explicitly says that with the standard exhaust, “you cannot hear the V12,” which seems counterintuitive for a car named 12Cilindri but comes as no surprise given contemporary noise and other emissions limits. we live in a world where an untouched sports car can attract fines from law enforcement, so Ferrari didn’t have much choice but to dampen the exhaust.
Novitec clarifies the character difference between its two offerings. The Race exhaust system provides a “more grumbling, deeper sound.” In contrast, the Sport exhaust system focuses on delivering a “high-pitching sound,” closer perhaps to a classic Ferrari V12 shriek.
More Than Just Noise
While the exhaust is the main focus, Novitec also offers aesthetic upgrades for the 12Cilindri. To enhance the vehicle’s stance and potentially sharpen handling, Novitec developed sport lowering springs. These springs reduce the ride height by approximately 2.5 centimeters (about one inch), giving the car a more aggressive look and sharpening the handling.

Completing the visual package are forged Novitec NF11 wheels. The demonstration car featured these multi-spoke wheels finished in silver, complementing the car’s silver paint and blue interior. These lightweight forged wheels can offer reduced unsprung mass compared to factory wheels, potentially offering minor performance benefits alongside the aesthetic upgrade.
