The Pagani Zonda Lives On With New One-Off

  • This special Zonda is inspired by the Kunlun Mountains in China.
  • It likely has a 760 hp 7.3-liter V12, as other Zondas in the 760 series.
  • Blue-tinted carbon fiber dominates the exterior of the hypercar.

The first Pagani Zonda was built in 1999, and 26 years later, the automaker’s factory continues to churn out one-offs. This is despite the fact that the Zonda has been superseded not once, but twice, first by the Huayra and the then the Utopia.

});

Importantly, Pagani is no longer building any brand-new Zonda models from the ground up. The last one, the Arrivederci, was unveiled last year. However, Pagani does continue to rebuild and modify earlier Zondas through its Unico division, and this extraordinary example is the latest.

It is a Zonda Roadster has been inspired by the Kunlun Mountains in China, as per the owner’s preferences, and features many of the same upgrades we’ve seen on other reworked models. The entire body is made from carbon fiber with a gorgeous blue exposed carbon fiber finish and, like all Zondas from the 760 series, sports a distinctive hood with large carbon fiber air vents and white stripes.

Elsewhere, it sits on black wheels with blue center caps and has heaps of aero add-ons at the rear. These include a towering rear wing, a carbon fiber shark fin, a secondary smaller wing, and a dramatic carbon fiber diffuser. The tailpipes are also finished in blue, as is the tailpipe surround.

 The Pagani Zonda Lives On With New One-Off

Pagani hasn’t provided any powertrain specifications about this one-off, but it’s safe to assume it has the same AMG-sourced 7.3-liter naturally aspirate V12 engine as other Zonda 760s that, as is obvious from the designation, is rated at 760 hp. There are no images of the supercar’s cabin available, so we don’t know if it’s been equipped with a stick shift or an automated manual, both of which were available. Either way, the V12 sings a symphony that few other production engines can match.

There’s no word on how much the owner of this Zonda paid for the upgrades, but based on recent sales results of other one-offs, it could be worth upwards of $10 million.
