Ford’s Recallathon Continues With Three New Campaigns

With 44 recalls and counting, Ford is the undisputed recall king

Ford’s Recallathon Continues With Three New Campaigns

  • Ford is recalling 289,944 vehicles as part of three new campaigns.
  • Two of the recalls are related to rearview camera issues.
  • The 2025 F-150 is also being recalled over a missing airbag sticker.

Ford is racking up recalls like there’s no tomorrow, and they just added three more to the list. This brings their total to 44 recalls so far this year, affecting over 1.7 million vehicles, a staggering 32 more actions than their nearest automotive competitor, Volkswagen.

The first recall impacts 128,889 Broncos from the 2022 and 2023 model year. The government says their 360-degree view camera system may not display a rearview image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Instead, they may see a blue or black image.

This increases the risk of a collision and the government said the issue is related to corrosion, tin oxide accumulation, and internal connector misalignment.

When parts become available, owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealership to have their rearview camera replaced. The new cameras have a gold-plated internal connector and improved connector alignment to address the problem.

Recall number two involves 160,729 vehicles including the 2015 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and Expedition as well as the 2015 Lincoln Navigator and MKC. These also have a rearview camera issue as they can show a blank or distorted image.

The problem is similar to the one mentioned above as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says “a loss of electrical conductivity caused by fretting corrosion on the terminal” results in a blank or distorted image. This was chalked up to a damaged solder reflow oven at the camera supplier as well as an unauthorized change to the camera’s printed circuit board terminal header tooling.

Like in the other recall, owners will be notified to take their vehicles to the dealership to have their rearview camera replaced.

The third and final recall involves 326 F-150s from the 2025 model year. They’re missing an air bag warning label that should have been applied to the dashboard.

The government said the oversight was the result of a damaged network cable at an error proofing station at the Dearborn Truck Plant. Due to the damage, the automaker didn’t “identify that certain vehicles required installation of an airbag dashboard warning label.”

Since this is a minor issue, Ford will simply mail owners the missing airbag warning label. Trucks on dealership lots will be inspected an equipped with the sticker, if needed.
