The Street Truck Ford Is Too Scared to Build

Pickups might be more popular than ever, but street trucks remain absent from modern lineups. Automakers have gone taller, not shorter, but a new package from Roush helps fill that gap by giving the Ford F-150 a properly lowered suspension.

The kit drops the pickup three inches in the front and five inches in the rear. The Roush-developed suspension includes performance coilovers, drop spindles, twin-tube dampers, progressive-rate springs, and an upgraded sway bar. Roush claims the pickup achieved 0.79gs on a 200-foot circular skid pad and 1.0gs on the track with a SuperCrew XLT in its testing.

The package also enhances the truck’s appearance by adding a blackout front grille with integrated amber lights, hood vents, and a graphics package. Twenty-two-inch black Roush wheels wrapped in 305/40R22 General Tire G-MAX AS07 all-season rubber fill the wheel wells, which hide the slotted brake rotors for improved stopping power.

Inside, the Ford gets custom Raven Black leather with Roush Red Accents, serialized badging, and aluminum pedals. Roush has three options available exclusively for the XLT trim: an Alpine audio upgrade, carbon-fiber interior trim, and a secure center console vault.

The Roush Nitemare starts at $19,999 and does not include the base vehicle. The limited-run package is available for regular and SuperCrew cab F-150 XL and XLT pickups. An F-150 XL with the regular cab starts at $39,445 (prices include the $1,995 destination charge) for 2025. An F-150 XLT SuperCrew has a $50,050 starting price.

That means the minimum you’ll be paying for a Nitemare is $59,444. Sure, it won’t be as capable as a Raptor. But it’s far cheaper, and in our opinion, far more interesting.
