Nightfall Trim Brings More Style To 2026 Kia EV9 Line

Kia has already announced its most-exciting EV9 model, the upcoming GT. That SUV will pack 501 horsepower and goodies from the EV6 GT and Ioniq 5 N, so that you can treat your extended family to a thrill ride. But it’s not the only addition coming to the SUV for 2026. At the New York Auto Show, Kia revealed a more modest, and surely more modestly priced, EV9 variant, the Nightfall Edition.

A Tried-And-True Trim Package

The Nightfall Edition is a trim package that has appeared on other Kia SUVs, and it follows the formula of applying black trim to an existing model to offer a unique look. The exterior features badging, mirror caps, sill trim, grille trim, and wheels all coated in black paint. Those wheels, though, feature a design unique to the Nightfall, and they measure 20 inches in size. Furthermore, Kia will offer a new paint color for the model called Roadrider brown.

The interior is black to match the exterior trim. Since the Nightfall Edition is based on the Land AWD trim, this is the only way to get an all-black interior on that trim level, although the slightly cheaper Wind AWD trim has a fully black interior, too.

Specifications And Availability.

Since the Nightfall Edition is based on the Land AWD, that means it comes with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive. The two motors make a combined 379 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, and torque jumps to 516 when pressing the “Boost” button on the steering wheel. It should also deliver a range of 280 miles on a full charge. A generous helping of safety features should be included, including blind-spot monitoring and avoidance, highway driving assist with stop-and-go ability, surround-view cameras and parking sensors. On the comfort and convenience side, it should have heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual sunroofs, and dual 12.3-inch screens for instruments and infotainment.

Kia’s affordable three-row just got a big power bump, tech from the Ioniq 5 N, and more.

The EV9 Nightfall Edition will go on sale in the second quarter of this year. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but it should start at a little more than the base price of the Land AWD. The Land AWD starts at $69,900 before adding the $1,495 destination charge. Kia also notes that the EV9 will qualify for the entire $7,500 federal EV tax credit, as long as the tax credit continues to be offered.
