Tariffs have been dominating the headlines, but it appears the hatred for Elon Musk hasn’t faded away. Quite the opposite as a Massachusetts man reportedly damaged multiple vehicles at a Tesla dealership.
According to Patch and NBC Boston, police were called to Peabody Tesla after someone poured paint on EVs at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Following the attack, the man reportedly fled on foot.

However, the manager of the dealership was able to point police in the right direction and give them a description of the suspect. This resulted in a chase, which eventually led to the arrest of 28-year-old Gardy Pierre.
He’s reportedly facing 11 counts of defacing property as well as one count of disturbing the peace. Each defacing property charge appears to carry a punishment of up to three years in prison as well as a fine of $1,500 or “not more than three times the value of the property so marked, injured, marred, defaced or destroyed.”
The disturbing the peace charge appears far less severe as a first offense is punishable by a fine of up to $150. However, Pierre might not get much leniency as the damaged vehicles were reportedly worth more than $500,000 in total.
While little is known about the motivations behind this particular attack, Tesla stores and owners have been targeted in recent months due to Elon Musk’s close ties to the Trump administration. He’s fired thousands of employees as the de facto head of the Department of Government Efficiency and has become a prime example of the so-called ‘billionaire takeover.’
