Audi A6 E-Tron Teased Ahead Of July 31 Debut

  • Audi is gearing up to introduce the A6 e-tron on July 31.
  • The teaser isn’t very revealing, but the model has been spied on multiple occasions and the company confirmed it will have an illuminated logo.
  • The model rides on the PPE platform and should offer powertrains that echo the Q6 e-tron.

Audi has released the first teaser image of the A6 e-tron, ahead of its debut on July 31. It promises to be an electrifying take on the traditional mid-size model.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9-9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”);
}
else{

adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”);
} });

The automaker isn’t saying much at this point, but the teaser offers a glimpse of pixelated daytime running lights that also function as turn signals. We can also see slender taillights that are connected by an illuminated strip.

Keen-eyed observers will notice an illuminated Audi logo out back. The company noted this is a first for one of their models in Europe and said the “four rings shine bright like diamonds.”

window._taboola = window._taboola || [];
_taboola.push({
mode: ‘thumbnails-a-mid’,
container: ‘taboola-mid-article’,
placement: ‘Mid Article’,
target_type: ‘mix’
});

});

While Audi is staying tight-lipped, the wagon has been spied on numerous occasions. As a result, we know the model will adopt split lighting units and a fully enclosed grille. They’ll be joined by streamlined bodywork, side camera mirrors, and minimalist door handles. Other highlights include an upward sweeping beltline and a long sloping roof.

We’ll learn full details shortly, but the model will ride on the PPE platform like the Q6 e-tron. This suggests the EV could have a roughly 100 kWh battery pack as well as an assortment of powertrains. This includes a rear-wheel drive variant with 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and a range of 345 – 398 miles (556 – 641 km).

There could also be a dual-motor all-wheel drive variant with 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS). It enables the crossover to have a range of between 335 and 388 miles (540 and 625 km). We can also look forward to an S6 e-tron packing roughly 483 hp (360 kW / 489 PS).
