Automobili Pininfarina has revealed the latest bespoke Battista commission, inspired by an icon of Italian style. Known as the Cinquantacinque – ’55’ in Italian – the electric hypercar pays tribute to the 1955 Lancia Florida I coupe concept, a vehicle designed by none other than Battista Pininfarina, the man behind the legendary design house.
The vehicle is coated in Blue Savoia Gloss paintwork with a contrasting Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof. This is a modern take on the Florida pictured here, although the classic Lancia is coated in an even more elegant shade of blue. The owner of the Battista has gone for the Brushed Anodized jewelry pack.

Bespoke Interior Features High-End Leather
The interior of the electric hypercar is trimmed in a rich brown hide known as Mahagoni Poltrona Frau Heritage leather. The upholstery has been applied to the center console and roof lining. Again, this takes inspiration from the ’55 Florida. Pininfarina has also added several inscriptions all over the vehicle as an homage to its design heritage. The redundant ‘Cinquantacinque 55’ signature can be found on the underside of the rear wing and the passenger door plate.

While the Battista Cinquatacinque and the Lancia Florida are very different cars, the latter has inspired Pininfarina products; the design house borrowed several Florida design elements for the Pura Vision design concept. Pininfarina says this vehicle “sets the template” for all Automobili Pininfarina vehicles to come. In that sense, the spirit of the Florida will live on in all future cars from the marque. Just four examples of the Florida I concept (two design studies were given this name, with the Florida I created as a four-door sedan and a coupe and the Florida II only created as a coupe) were ever produced.
Lancia Florida Influence Will Be Present In Future Models
The Battista Cinquatacinque will debut in Tokyo, Japan, in front of Pininfarina’s clients in Japan and surrounding countries. The automaker has not said when the vehicle will be publicly revealed or who the lucky customer is.

This is as close to a real-life Batmobile as you’re going to find.
“This was a truly special and unique opportunity to design a car that pays homage to Pininfarina SpA’s heritage. The color combination of the Battista Cinquatacinque is incredible and shows the vision Battista Farina had when he designed the Lancia Florida back in the early fifties. Not only that, but the very same model helped guide me when creating the Pura Vision design concept, a truly unique vehicle that sets the template for future models from Automobili Pininfarina.”
– Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina
While they’re both objets d’art, the Pininfarina Battista is considerably quicker than the Florida. The electric hypercar gains motivation from a quad-electric motor drivetrain that produces 1,877 horsepower and 1,726 lb-ft of torque. Capable of reaching 60 mph in 1.79 seconds, the Battista is one of the world’s fastest-accelerating cars – only the Rimac Nevera is quicker. A 120 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of around 280 miles.
