Miami Armored Launches Program To Armor Your Truck For A Lot Less

Armoring vehicles isn’t cheap. It involves lots of specialty materials and custom modification, particularly when the goal is to keep a vehicle as close to its stock form as possible. So, Miami Armored is running a promotion to provide armor for much less than usual. If you bring the truck you already have, rather than having the company source a truck for you, the company will give you a huge $10,000 rebate.

What You Get And What Qualifies

The program is open to anyone with a pickup truck built between 2020 and 2025. The truck has to have less than 50,000 miles on it, and it has to be in generally good condition. While Miami Armored didn’t specify any particular makes or models, the trucks it currently offers armor for are standard and heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, as well as the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra. It also offers armor for the Toyota Hilux in markets where it’s sold.

The program is also specifically for the BR4 level of armor. This is a rating for what kind of gunfire the armor will protect against. According to Miami Armored, this protection package will stop up to .44 pistol ammunition. Among the changes to provide this protection are ballistic glass on the windows, ballistic steel in doors and around body panels, protection for the fuel tank, and relocation of the battery and engine computer. Miami Armored doesn’t give a price for the package, but we would estimate that it could be in the neighborhood of $50,000, which is what another armoring company, Armormax, charges for a similar level of armor on the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Miami Armored Has Other Armor Options

While they don’t qualify for the $10,000 rebate, Miami Armored provides packages for all variety of other cars, including sedans and SUVs. The company even upfits vans and cash transport trucks. Multiple levels of ballistic protection are available, too, ranging from BR2, which protects against 9-mm pistol rounds up to BR7, which defends against armor-piercing 7.62 ammunition. If you have the need, or just the desire, to have a heavily armored vehicle, Miami Armored has plenty of options and a solid deal. Frankly, with the number of armorers out there, picking one is probably the trickiest part of the process.
