BMW M has done a tremendous job of making the latest generation of the BMW M5 better than ever. Aside from the weight of the PHEV system, of course, because that decision will have haters until the end of time.

Its Adaptive M suspension promises variable damping and multiple drive modes to help the big M5 corner. But KW Automotive has just launched a solution it thinks is even better. The three-way adjustable V4 coilover suspension for the M5 lets you dial in your damping for even better handling and lower the ride height to make the stance of the M5 even better.
OE-Level Suspension Upgrades Give The G90 M5 More Presence And Precision
The German performance company says that its kit makes the M5 even more agile, better supporting the body when you want to go fast, both around corners and at an Autobahn top speed. At the same time, KW’s latest valving tech allows for a better ride on back roads.
“We use a new valve technology in our current generation of the V4 suspension, which, on the one hand, no longer requires an expansion tank and, on the other hand, offers a significantly extended adjustment range,” said brand manager Florian Johann.

The M5 Touring Is Way More Popular Than BMW Expected
Not just with with critics, but with customers.
KW makes suspensions for a massive range of models. It has offerings that range from simple solutions to provide more comfort than standard to its V6 racing dampers that are used in the DTM as well as GT3 and GT4 racing series. Depending on the car, there are multiple choices in between that range from fast street to track day. It has even designed and developed systems for OE automaker road car use, including for the BMW M4 GTS and the Mercedes-AMG CLK 63 Black Series, and for the track-only Lamborghini SC63.
Three-Way Adjustable Plus Dialed-In Ride Height
Those adjustments include independently adjustable compression damping for both low and high-speed impacts. That lets you tune the car to be less harsh over pavement cracks and similar impacts while keeping it firm on dips and bends. It also has independent adjustment for low-speed rebound.
13 clicks for each compression adjustment and 16 clicks of adjustment for rebound let you fine-tune the car. KW says its newest damper tech means the differences between settings are much larger than in a conventional electronically adjusted system. While both compression settings are adjustable from a dial on the shock body, the rebound adjustment is via the top of the shock, which can be tougher to reach, especially in the rear.

There’s Good News About The 2026 BMW M5 Sedan
If you’re in the market for a super sedan with 717 horsepower, you won’t have to expand your budget for the 2026 model.
KW’s adjustable coilover system lets you lower the M5 by 10 to 30 mm (0.4-1.2 inches). That’s enough to tuck the wheels without risking hitting the bodywork, because KW says its lowering is the “maximum technically possible.”
The system will launch for both the M5 sedan and the M5 Touring wagon. It will be available shortly, the company said. It didn’t reveal pricing, but the V4 kit for the M5’s biggest competitor, the Audi RS6 Avant, is $7,439.
