Car designer Khyzyl Saleem (The Kyza) has a seemingly never-ending supply of cool car ideas. His latest is partly inspired by another recent project of his, the TWR Supercat, a highly modified Jaguar XJS. According to his Facebook post, he was thinking about Group A touring cars that would’ve competed against the Jaguar, and decided he would give one of its rivals, the BMW 6 Series, the same sort of treatment. Let’s look at the details.

BMW

BMW is a German luxury car and motorbike manufacturer and current owner of Mini, Rolls-Royce, and Alpina. With roots dating back to 1913 as Rapp Motorenwerke, it officially became Bayerische Motoren Werke in 1922 as a manufacturer of aircraft engines. BMW’s first car was built in 1928 when it built the Austin 7 under license from Dixi, which was called the BMW 3/15. BMW grew into a manufacturer of premium and luxury automobiles, launching iconic nameplates like the 3 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series, and is today known as one of the leading luxury automakers in the world, while the BMW M division is hailed as a leading manufacturer of performance cars.

Touring Car Looks To The Extreme

Like the Supercat, Saleem applied many classic touring car cues to what he calls the 635-KS, just pushed a little farther. It has huged box fender flares and a deep front spoiler. The rear wing is neatly molded into the body, rather than a modern bolt-on design. The hood, in addition to a quartet of air vents, also gets a pair of fins that would look just as at home on a period Nissan Skyline as on this BMW. In his post, Saleem notes he opted for HRE 935 wheels as he felt they were reminiscent of old Alpina wheels. We also see BMW E30 3 Series “bottle cap” wheels in them, too.

It’s just a rendering, so the car could hypothetically be powered by anything. Saleem said he imagined this car being powered not by a six-cylinder, like the 6 Series would have had, but rather a V12. Presumably, it would be a BMW unit making around 600 horsepower to be a counterpoint to the TWR Supercat.

Other Kyza Projects

Saleem, as we’ve discussed, was key to the design of the Supercat. It also features very 1980s race car design cues. Unlike the BMW, though, the Supercat will be produced. There will be 88 examples, and they’ll all feature a supercharged V12, presumably based on the old Jaguar unit. It will also get a six-speed manual transmission. Saleem isn’t the only major car personality tied to the project, as Magnus Walker, famed modifier of Porsches, is also helping bring the Supercats to life.

Saleem also creates body kit designs for his company Live To Offend. The company currently offers parts for the E30 and E36 BMW 3 Series cars, as well as the third-generation FD Mazda RX-7. Parts range from complete kits to more individual parts such as rear window louvers.

Finally, Saleem creates all kinds of designs just for fun. He even imagined a highly modified version of the Jaguar XJ220 that we featured recently. He shares all his designs on social media, such as his Facebook page that we’ve embedded.
