When A Hummer Stumbles This Amphibious V8 Monster Charges Forward

There’s nothing like climbing over rocks or cruising along the water than with a V8-powered TUT

When A Hummer Stumbles This Amphibious V8 Monster Charges Forward

  • TUT Titan features 33 inches of ground clearance and 68-inch amphibious tires.
  • The monster truck is powered by a 500 hp, 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine.
  • Rear section detaches to convert the Titan into an open-bed utility vehicle.

You may (or may not) recall the Sherp from Russia that went viral almost a decade ago. Either way, there’s a similar extreme truck manufactured and sold in the United States, and it’s called the TUT Titan. This rugged five-seater shares the Sherp’s go-anywhere design philosophy and adds full amphibious capabilities to the mix. But despite its undeniable appeal, this particular example recently failed to sell at auction.

The TUT Titan is manufactured in Forest Lake, Minnesota, and this one was used as a display vehicle for approximately six months before being listed for sale. Just like the Sherp, the design of the Titan is dominated by the 24-inch wheels and huge 68-inch tires that don’t just allow it to climb over rocks, but also provide it with the buoyancy needed to float.

The massive tires also help give the Titan 33 inches of ground clearance and, according to the seller, it can climb and descend 67-degree grades.

The exterior of the Titan is finished in a red bedliner material and has a rear section that can be removed, essentially turning it into a pickup truck. The cabin looks incredibly spacious, and while it’s mostly free of creature comforts, all you really need are comfortable seats when adventuring in something like this.

Listed for sale through Bring a Trailer, this Titan has a 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V8 with a K&N air intake and a custom exhaust. The engine delivers an impressive 500 hp, and that’s apparently enough to send the Titan through to 80 mph on the highway. No details were shared about its water speed, but you probably won’t care. It already out-cools most boats by just showing up.

Despite how impressive the Titan is, bidding on the amphibious vehicle topped out at $125,000, falling short of the seller’s reserve. If we had this kind of money to splash on something that can’t be driven on the road and is purely for enjoying the outdoors, we’d spend it in a heartbeat.
