Nissan Plans To Sell Its Chinese Products In More Markets

With the company facing grim news on sales and financial fronts, Nissan seems to be pulling out all the stops to turn itself around. The company has already announced major product offensives for multiple markets, with some of the newly announced vehicles arriving soon. It’s apparently going to make better use of its resources in China, too. According to Chinese news outlet XHBY, Nissan will start exporting Chinese-built vehicles that it has co-developed with its Chinese joint-venture partner, Dongfeng.

XHBY went on to say that Nissan’s Chinese exports will be headed to markets in southeast Aisa and the Middle East, along with a few other unnamed markets. Unsurprisingly, they won’t show up in the US. The main hurdle with sales in the US would be the enormous tariffs placed on Chinese vehicle imports. XBHY also noted that Nissan is working on some different software for exported Chinese vehicles due to Chinese technology restrictions. The first model that will be exported will be the Nissan N7 electric sedan, which features programs that run on China’s DeepSeek AI system.

The EZ-6 sprouts into the Mazda6e. Is it sexy? Oh yes.

Nissan isn’t the only automaker to bring its Chinese-market products to other markets. One of the more notable and recent examples is Mazda. The company developed a liftback sedan called the EZ-6 with Chinese company Changan. That car will be available in Europe as the Mazda6e, and it will give the company a much-needed full-electric model with competitive range and performance. So far, the only EV Mazda has had for Europe has been the MX-30, which only offered 100 miles of range in the US. That model is even being discontinued just as the 6e arrives.

The N7 Is Almost Like An Electric Altima

Looking at the Nissan N7, which was previewed by the Epoch concept, you wouldn’t be surprised if it was going to be the successor to the long-running midsize Nissan Altima. In fact, it’s only slightly larger, and just over an inch longer overall, and a couple of inches larger in every other direction. It’s a clean, if nondescript sedan with headlights clearly inspired by the Ariya. The running lights are made up of many small pixels that enable some fancy animations to be displayed. The interior is similarly clean and minimalist, with many round edges, except for the instrument and infotainment screens. The infotainment screen is quite large at 15.6 inches, too.

Sadly, the automaker hasn’t shared many details regarding the plug-in hybrid and electric concepts.

Unlike the Altima, the N7 is purely electric. It’s offered with a single motor at the front making either 215 horsepower or 268. Torque is the same regardless, at 225 pound-feet. Supplying power is either a 58- or 73-kWh battery that can be recharged to 80% in just 19 minutes. Range is rated between 317 miles and 388 miles, though that’s on the generous Chinese range tests. Those numbers would absolutely be lower in US testing. It also has a familiar suspension design with a MacPherson front layout and multi-link independent rear. According to XHBY, Nissan will start exporting these N7s starting next year, and it could lead to additional models. We also wouldn’t be surprised if the cars start showing up in even more markets, such as Europe, in the near future if the plan works well for Nissan.
