Captain America’s Cadillac Celestiq Is Dividing The Internet

Maybe some people shouldn’t be allowed to pick their own cabin colors, even if it’s a $400,000 flagship

Captain America’s Cadillac Celestiq Is Dividing The Internet

  • A new Cadillac Celestiq on display reveals how far customization can go with wealthy buyers.
  • Interior features mismatched hues that drew superhero comparisons from social media users.
  • One-off design highlights freedom and risk of ultra-personalized six-figure car builds.

The super-rich are different from you and me in almost everything. When it comes to cars, they get choices that mainstream buyers wouldn’t even dream of. Take the Cadillac Celestiq for example. Among its many bespoke options is the ability to customize the cabin color, not through preset packages or minor flourishes like contrast stitching, but full-blown, anything-goes personalization.

One particular Celestiq we found online shows just how far that freedom can go, and why maybe not everyone should be trusted to design their own interior.

On display at Arrowhead Cadillac in Glendale, Arizona, this particular Celestiq wears a pearl blue exterior. It’s not the flashiest color in the spectrum, but it does a nice job of highlighting the car’s sculpted lines. It’s inside where things get really wild, though.

When Customization Goes Off the Rails

The cabin features several bright blue panels, including on the door cards and the seats. The carpet and floor mats get the same bright blue color – but the blue paint doesn’t really match the blue paneling in the cabin. Still, that’s not even the most puzzling part.

That issue would be the addition of lots of bright red and stark white in the cabin. The entire dash, steering wheel, and bits of the door cards get red upholstery. The center console tunnel has a white sitting atop it. It’s a daring combination, but not in the way that gets you compliments from strangers.

Not Just a Personal Opinion

And no, this isn’t just one critic’s distaste for vibrant interiors. Arrowhead Cadillac’s posted the car on social media, and the comment section lit up instantly. The public consensus? Less “modern art” and more “superhero tie-in.” Here are just a few.

One person quipped, “Looks like the Ghostbusters car.” Another asked, “Did the Cobra Commander special order that?!” And then there was: “Shaq Special?” followed by “Of the 7k different interior choices. They chose THIS?!?” and the coup de grâce, “When is Captain America taking delivery of his Celestiq?”. Put simply, we hope whoever designed it isn’t reading the comment section.

To be fair, not every reaction was negative. A few commenters did express appreciation for the design. One called it “futuristic and classic in one,” while another simply said, “I like the interior color choice.”

But that’s the thing about cars at this level. When you’re spending well over $340,000 on something custom-built, you’re not looking for mass approval and you’re a bit more willing to be playful with cabin colors. In the end, someone saw this combination and said, “Yes, that one.” And they’ll probably be the only person who has to live with it.
