The League Of Legends video game has been around for more than 15 years, and yet it’s still going strong with generation after generation of gamers. Now, there’s a Hall of Legends that was created to celebrate the best of the best of these gamers – and it just introduced its second-ever member, who was gifted a customized all-electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class in the real world for their accomplishments.
Who Is The Lucky Gamer?
League Of Legends pro Jian Zìháo, better known online as “Uzi,” is one of the most prolific players to have apparently never won a world championship, according to his online record. He did finish as a runner-up to the winners of the world championship twice, though, and was reportedly the first pro player to reach 500 games. He’s also known for representing the Chinese national team for the online multiplayer video game. Now, Riot Games, the developer behind League Of Legends, has inducted Uzi into its hall of fame called the Hall Of Legends, where he joins the only other current member, Korea’s “Faker.”

Mercedes is pouring a lot of money into the world of gaming. And it doesn’t get more prestigious than the League of Legends (LoL) World Championship.
The Mercedes Link
Mercedes-Benz is a Riot Games partner, hence the connection and reason for Uzi to get a brand-new SUV for playing video games well. Uzi has earned a free copy of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class, otherwise known as the G 580 with EQ Technology. The base electric G-Class SUV comes with four e-motors, one at each wheel, good for 579 horsepower and 859 lb-ft of torque, with a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds and a 116 kWh battery pack good for about 240 miles of range on a full charge.
What Makes Uzi’s G-Class Special?
Uzi’s bespoke G-Class is custom-modified with engraved “Hall Of Legends” door handles, similar engraving on the side protection bars, as well as a MANUFAKTUR Kalahari gold magno paint finish, which makes this the first G-Class in China with the color. Mercedes also generated some digital artwork showing Uzi with his G-Class in front of the Hall Of Legends in his hometown of Shanghai.
“Legends are not only recognized by their achievements, but also by the impact they leave behind. It is therefore an honor to celebrate Uzi’s induction into the Hall of Legends with a very special vehicle, which shall be a steady companion as he moves forward on his individual path,”
– Bettina Fetzer, Mercedes-Benz Digital & Communications Vicc President
