2026 BMW M2 CS Design Revealed In Full, Details Remain A Mystery

The quickest, fastest, and meanest version of BMW’s M2 has just been revealed. Alongside the swanky shores of Lake Como, amidst the glory of the Alps and some of the greatest driving roads in the world, the BMW M2 CS is being shown to the public for the very first time.

It’s show, not tell, though, because while BMW is letting the car bask in the cloudy gloom of a surprisingly cloudy day, that’s all it is doing. If you want the full performance specs for the car, you’re going to have to wait.

M2 CS Gets Subtle Appearance Upgrades

BMW’s changes to the M2 to create the CS, or Club Sport, are what you might expect based on the similar versions of the M3 CS. The car’s design starts with a more aggressive front lip in the controversial nose. The grille is new, with the crossbars of the standard M2 removed and replaced with what looks like a single bar wearing the M badge. Look closely into the side vents, and you can see that those, too, have been altered. The main area doesn’t appear larger, but the inside has been tweaked.

In side profile, the M2 CS looks to be identical to the standard M2. But, from that angle, you can see the cross-spoke gold-finished wheels. They look like the same design as the ultra-cool wheels used on the M3 CS and M4 CSL. Look even more closely inside the wheels, and you can see that the brakes use two-piece rotors. We haven’t heard anything from BMW yet, but the crazing on the rotors looks like they’ve been upgraded to BMW’s M Carbon ceramic bits for lighter weight and no-fade on-track braking. Carbon ceramic brakes were offered on the last-generation M2 CS as an option.

The 2026 M2 CS is being hustled hard, showing off some gorgeous details as it does so.

Surprisingly, the wheels don’t seem to be wearing wider tires. Assuming the 275/35R19 rubber you can see in the photos is on the front, they’re the same size as the stock M2 units (which has 285/30ZR20 on the rear).

Ducktail Spoiler Is Now Massive

Around the back, the M2’s small spoiler has grown into a massive one for the CS. It’s also not a stick-on like the M2, but rather it appears to be an entirely new trunklid. The relocated badges float in the huge new ducktail panel. Below that is a new rear diffuser. The more aggressive unit should balance out any downforce increases on the nose. As in the standard M2, there are four tailpipes, but these have a black surround instead of shiny metal.

As far as suspension and horsepower upgrades, we’ll have to wait for BMW. Past CS cars, like the last M3 CS, got adaptive suspension upgrades and chassis reinforcement. The M4 CS also has weight reduction through the use of carbon fiber parts.

The German sports coupe takes to the notorious German track for what’s probably the final swings of development testing for the new BMW M2 CS.

The current BMW M2 coupe makes 473 horsepower from its twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six. The BMW M3 has similar horsepower in its base form, with the M3 Competition delivering 503 horsepower from a version of the same engine. The most powerful M3, the CS, pushes the silky six to 543 horsepower.

Stay tuned for the full details about the BMW M2 CS. We’ll have them as soon as possible.
