Customers are still waiting to get their 1,064-horsepower Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, but Chevy has just announced changes for anyone wanting a less-powerful version of the C8. The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray gets a brand-new interior that drops the ridge of buttons for a more conventional design and a larger screen. The latest ‘Vette will also get a new traction control mode, a big carbon brake upgrade for the ZR1’s ZTK pack, and a new electrochromic-adjusting Targa top with three adjustable tint modes.

Chevrolet wants the Corvette to be nicer inside than before. The real surprise: these changes are coming to the ZR1, not just the rest of the lineup. Yes, even though we’ve already seen ZR1 photos with the old interior.
Corvette Gets Serious Tech Updates
Brand VP Scott Bell describes the Corvette as “the luxury sport segment leader for more than 20 years.” While the level of luxury in that equation has been questionable in some of those years, the 2026 model absolutely elevates it, and that goes beyond the new tech.
New tech that includes a larger 12.7-inch center screen, a bigger 14-inch dash display, and an all-new 6.6-inch touchscreen to the left of the driver. The center screen includes Google Built-in software for more apps. It also now lets you use voice control to open the Performance Data Recorder app.

We wouldn’t mind a pace car edition of this one.
New gauges, live temperature feeds, and a relocated acceleration timer are part of the Performance App that expands from the E-Ray to every C8. The new screen on the left is driver-configurable. It can show you trip mileage, traction management settings, and all sorts of other displays.
Chevy relocated the buttons that used to live on the bulkhead, known by fans and haters alike as the Great Wall Of Buttons. HVAC controls now live below the center screen, where the passenger likely won’t be able to reach. There is a wireless phone charge pad now, and the drive mode selector is in line with the gear selector. The cupholders have also been redesigned.
First Asymmetrical Corvette Interior Colors
The 2026 C8 (C8.2?) cabin changes are deeper than that. The Corvette team says it focused on “ultimate craftsmanship” with new materials, stitching, and colorways. New colors include sky cool and medium ash gray, Santorini blue, Very Dark Atmosphere, and Ultimate Suede.
There is also a first for Chevrolet: an asymmetrical interior. Red on the driver’s side and black on the passenger side, it is meant to give “a dramatic separation between the driver and passenger areas.”

The electrochromic targa top is still removable, but lets more light into the cabin when it’s in place. It’s adjustable, just like the windows of a Boeing 787. Performance Traction Management gets a new PTM Pro mode, which turns off stability and traction control, but leaves ABS on. The ZR1’s ZTK package is now confirmed as coming with carbon ceramic brakes. 10-piston front and six-piston rear calipers help make it the largest brake system of any production Corvette.
Chevrolet did not say when the 2026 Corvette would hit dealers. It also didn’t announce a price. The 2025 C8 Stingray started from $69,995.
