This Ford GT Heritage Edition Is A Bargain For The Rich

One of only 50 Ford GT Heritage Editions built is up for sale on Bring A Trailer, and, remarkably, interested buyers could end getting a bargain. This particular model (lot number #191483 on the Bring A Trailer website) was built in 2020 on top of the second-generation Ford GT, has been with its current dealer since 2023, and boasts just 366 miles on the clock. Amazingly, at the time of writing and with just one day of the auction left to go, the current winning bid is ‘only’ $930,000, almost half a million dollars less than the price of another Ford GT Heritage Edition that was previously sold at auction with RM Sotheby’s.

Inspired by the original GT40 Mk.II that secured Ford its first outright win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1966, the Ford GT Heritage Edition celebrated 55 years since not only Ford’s first-ever 24-hour race win but also subsequent victories at that year’s 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans. A remarkably successful season that was cinematically recreated in 2019’s Ford v Ferrari.

Livery And ’98’ Decal Pay Tribute To 1966 Daytona Livery

Before you get too excited, the GT Heritage Edition is mechanically identical to the Ford GT that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in 2015, and as such, 660 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque are produced by the mid-rear-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6. The retractable active rear wing was not modified for this special edition model, nor indeed were the butterfly doors, the performance-based rear diffuser, or the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which sends full power to the rear wheels.

The Ultra-Rare Ford GT Roadster That Did What No Other GT Could

A one-of-a-kind Ford GT40 is going to be sold at auction next month: the only GT Roadster to compete at Le Mans.

The main selling point is the white and black livery, comprising the Frozen White Paint underbody and carbon fiber hood, with Red Alcantara accenting across the front fascia, the roof’s leading edge, the driver’s side door, and the rear spoiler. The design, including the ’98’ race number decal, pays homage to the livery on the 1966 Mk.II, driven to victory at Daytona by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby, that led home a historic Ford 1-2-3-4-5.

This particular GT rides on 20-inch carbon fiber wheels, behind which are black Brembo monobloc brake calipers (incidentally, those are paid upgrades over the 20-inch aluminum wheels and red calipers that came as standard on the Heritage Edition). To maintain the finished look, a clear paint protection film was applied by the dealership in October 2021.

The Ford Supercar So Hardcore It Couldn’t Be Street Legal

Ford concluded its Ford GT series by creating a track-only hardcore version of the road car with greater performance than Ford’s GTE race car.

The ’66 tributes on the inside are more limited, with only the red accents continuing across the instrumental panel, headliner, steering wheel, and as contrast stitching on the black suede upholstery. A six-point racing harness is also included with full red buckets, though Ford opted against going full track-spec for this special edition, and thus the road-going model’s touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, and adjustable pedal box remain intact.

With fewer than 400 miles on the clock, this example is practically untouched, and since it’s going relatively cheap, we hope the next owner uses it as the engineers intended.
