Earlier this year, the notorious auto outfitter Mansory was one of the quickest to get its paws on the updated 2025 Mercedes-AMG G 63 luxury SUV. Mansory calls its G-Class the Gronos, and it expanded its lineup this year with a new model with a special rear suicide door variant it calls the Grand Entrée. Now, the brand has taken things even further, far beyond what Mercedes-Benz or even Maybach currently or likely plans to offer for the G-Class: a convertible Landaulet lookalike conversion.
Not The First Convertible G-Class, But The Newest
Mansory isn’t the first to turn this generation of G-Class into a convertible, but it is the first to do it post-facelift. Previously, a similar shop called Refined Marques offered a limited run of 20 convertible G-Class SUVs at a price of $1.3 million, but that was far more subtle than Mansory’s creations, like the new convertible Speranza model. Mercedes itself has also built a convertible G-Class with the previous generation.

Mercedes never built a convertible AMG G63, but that didn’t stop Refined Marques from doing it their own way.
The Mansory Speranza SUV takes the outfitter’s previously-revealed Gronos Grand Entrée and all of its mods, and chops off the roof and part of the rear end for a Landaulet look. The back can be closed with an electronically-powered soft-top piece that folds up into a bunch over the rear end when open. The debut model comes with white finishing on the exterior and interior, with red accents on the roof panel and throughout the cabin. All told, Manory offers seven unique body style or performance configurations of the G-Class.
Some Rigid Reworking Is Needed, But More Obvious Changes Are Inside
Since chopping off the metal roof bits is a bit of a structural nightmare for such a boxy vehicle, or any four-door model, especially an SUV, further modifications are done throughout the chassis for rigidity and safety. The body has been modded around the new shape with a rear triangle-shaped window added to the greenhouse, which helps finish off the look of the profile, while also protecting rear passengers from wind buffeting, Mansory reports. The company also went through the interior with new seals and electronic components to ensure some additional level of weather resistance, but you still shouldn’t take a hose to it.

The interior rear row of seating gets a custom, configurable center console unit that splits the rear bench into just two seats, for a total capacity of just four luxurious folks. There’s also plenty of Mansory logos littered throughout, including on the seat belts, carbon pedals, carbon-leather steering wheel, floor mats, door handles, and more. The choice of colorways, leather or other materials, and even the design of certain carbon components is all a conversation with each individual customer, to ensure a completely unique product for everyone who buys one.
More Power Is Almost Mandatory At This Stage
Under the hood, the Speranza gets the familiar boosted upgrade as other Mansory Mercedes G-Class models, with larger turbos, a redesigned exhaust system, and a flash reprogramming of the Mercedes 4.0-liter V8 up to a whopping 820 horsepower, sent through all four wheels. The model comes with a claimed 0-60 acceleration time of just 4.0 seconds, despite the chassis tightening work that likely moved some of the vehicle’s weight around. There’s no word on price, but you know it’ll be high.
