Mercedes-AMG just took to social media to announce what appears to be a new sports car. A single image posted by the German automaker and Formula 1 team shows the silhouette of an all-new vehicle, which bears some resemblance to the Mercedes Vision AMG Concept that was revealed back in 2022, likely foreshadowing the next 8 Series Gran Coupe rival.
No other details about the car were shared in the post (embedded at the bottom of this post), but Mercedes did share some details about when it would be revealed to the public.
It Seems Pretty Clear What We’re Looking At
Without any concrete details from Mercedes, we can only give our best guess about what this image is teasing. The roofline appears to be similar to what we’ve seen in spy shots from last year, a production version of the aforementioned Vision AMG Concept. This vehicle will be all-electric and likely act as a replacement for the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. We expect it to share styling cues with the EQXX, an electric concept vehicle that could travel over 600 miles on a single charge.

Unlike the EQXX, which was focused on maximum efficiency, this AMG car should prioritize acceleration and handling. No specific performance figures are known, but Mercedes has already teased massively powerful axial flux motors in the Vision One-Eleven Concept. Each motor produces 480 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, meaning you could have up to 1,920 hp and 2,360 lb-ft of torque with a motor on each axle. This could give the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT a run for its money.
It Arrives Very, Very Soon
The teaser is all well and good, but when will we see the latest AMG model? The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa takes place from June 27 to 29, and is relatively close to AMG’s home in Affalterbach, Germany. June is also the month when the 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place, which could be another potential location.

We’d say Monterey Car Week, arguably the best show in the world right now for stuff like this, would be an ideal spot for a reveal like this, but it doesn’t take place until August.
