When it comes to supercars, there’s no such thing as too much. So while the average person might look at the 1,016-horsepower, plug-in hybrid Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and think, “This is fine,” many enthusiasts somehow find themselves wanting more than the Maranello company will provide. Luckily, Novitec just announced its tuning program for the plug-in hybrid supercar, which adds power to the combustion engine, retunes the suspension for a more aggressive stance, and adds some visual aggression while keeping the high-downforce aerodynamics intact.

Even Bigger Power For The Twin-Turbo V8
The main headline-grabber is a staggering output of 1,045 hp for the plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain. By giving the internal-combustion engine a Novitec-designed high-flow exhaust system, the engine exhales better, and the pipes come in either stainless steel or lightweight Inconel alloy metal. Sophisticated 100-cell catalysts ensure the Ferrari PHEV meets emissions requirements – even supercars have to be green nowadays – and according to the tuning company, the higher flow both reduces parasitic power loss and provides an even more exciting engine note.
The exhaust alone provides a 29-hp, 27-pound-foot boost to the internal combustion powertrain, which now makes 816 hp and 620 lb-ft all on its own. Combined with the unchanged plug-in hybrid electric motors, total output rests at that aforementioned 1,045 horses. Better still, the Novitec exhaust is better insulated than the factory components, meaning reduced underhood temperatures and more consistent performance even in taxing environments. The tuner also offers gold-plated heat shields as an option, providing still-more-improved thermal insulation (as well as some underhood visual flash).

Securely Planted Suspension Magic
In addition to the power improvements, Novitec also paid some attention to the Ferrari SF90’s suspenders. Specially tuned springs lower the car an inch, improving handling thanks to a lower center of gravity. Furthermore, the high-end hybrid also gets new rolling stock, thanks to a partnership with American wheel manufacturer Vossen. Three different wheel designs are available, and the base setup provides staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheel diameters that, according to Novitec, enhances the SF90 XX Stradale’s wedgy shape. The car seen in these photos sports the so-called NF11 wheel design in black, with center lock–style hub covers. For those who prefer a more even keel, 21-inch front wheels are also available.
The tuner knows when to leave well enough alone, which is why it didn’t alter the factory aerodynamics. Apart from some exposed carbon side-view mirrors, the Ferrari-developed aero kit remains intact, meaning the rear fender Gurney flaps, front splitter with integrated dive planes, and towering rear wing provide 1,168 pounds of downforce at 155 mph – more than any other Ferrari in history save the newly introduced F80.
A Somehow Restrained Tuner Car
By letting Ferrari do most of the aero (and therefore design) work, Novitec allowed its SF90 to look almost subdued. The subtle suspension drop and revised wheel-and-tire package are the only real clues you’re looking at a tuner, meaning there are none of the gills, scoops, or tailfins of some of the less tasteful modded supercars out there. The hunkered-down stance enhances, rather than detracts from, the SF90 XX Stradale’s basic design, and with a bit more power coming from the plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Novitec Ferrari backs up its subtlety with some extra go-juice, helping it achieve that mythical “more” without going over the top.
