One of the most beautiful cars sold today might not be dead yet. We had all thought that the stunning Lexus LC grand tourer would be taken from the market sooner rather than later.

Now new reports from Japan say that the LC coupe and convertible are going to get a refresh. Some needed changes are coming to this lovely piece of steel that could help keep it on the road for another half-decade or more.
New Lexus Models Coming Including Updated IS
The chain to get to this one is a long one. The Drive spotted Kirk Kreifels on YouTube, who was perusing Japanese publication Mag-X.
A refresh of the compact Lexus IS sedan is coming this year, the report says. It even has renderings that show strangely Prius-like changes to the aging luxury car, but that’s not the one that surprises us. The small Lexus is still a strong entry point into the brand’s family, and it makes sense it will live.
The low-selling, high-dollar, and electrified (if you want) LC getting a refresh is more of a surprise. While we love how it looks and drives, the model has felt like it is only still in the lineup because nobody remembered to tell the factory to stop. Even the lame-duck Mirai sold in higher numbers than the 1,761 LCs Lexus moved last year.

Drop-Top Showdown: Lexus LC Convertible Vs. Mercedes-AMG SL43
If you’re looking for a performance-focused drop-top, these are two of the best to compare. Which comes out on top?
With a new grille and new wheels, the LC will likely find new life. It will also get what we understand to be large Lexus lettering across the rear. It’s a look that’s catching on across the industry, with other Lexus models including the TX already adding the logo text.
Other changes include a new fixed rear wing. The current model offers a retractable wing with the Dynamic Handling Package, and, frankly, the idea of a fixed one has us worried. The LC’s sleek tail is an important part of its design, so the Lexus stylists had better tread carefully.
Changes To Ageing LC Expected On Sale Next Year
Production is expected to start in April 2026, which means that the new car will likely debut sometime this fall.
The LC hit the market in 2017, though it feels a bit older because the concept car was revealed in 2012. It has seen only tiny updates since hitting the market, including swapping to a touchscreen from the older Lexus interface in 2024. This is a model old enough that it launched with a CD player, which also disappeared with the 2024 update.
