Suzuki Jimny Horizon Is A Special Farewell With A Retro Twist

  • Suzuki Germany introduced the Jimny Horizon special edition with a limited production of 900 units.
  • It adds a body kit and accessories, marking the end of its current production form.
  • The Jimny will return to Europe and the UK with a mild-hybrid engine in an upcoming facelift.

Suzuki has unveiled a special edition of the Jimny LCV in Germany, serving as a farewell to the tiny off-roader in its current non-electrified form. The Suzuki Jimny Horizon, limited to 900 units, features a body kit and an extensive accessories package.

The Horizon stands out from the standard Jimny with its retro-flavored grille featuring Suzuki lettering, aluminum-style skid plate on the bumper, matching side skirts, and Suzuki-branded spare wheel cover. Additionally, the model includes a set of mud flaps, complementing the black steelies.

As for the interior, the two-seater configuration and flat floor allow for up to 863 liters (30.5 cubic feet) of cargo space.

Under the hood lies the familiar naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine, producing 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. For the Horizon, this four-pot can only be mated to a manual gearbox, sending power to all four wheels. The local emission regulations have forced Suzuki to offer the Jimny only in LCV form in Europe and the UK since 2021.

The 900 units of the Suzuki Jimny Horizon are now available at select Suzuki dealerships in Germany, priced at €32,340 ($35,000). For context, the base price for the Jimny in the German market is €29,490 (equal to around $32,000 at current exchange rates).

This upgrade would allow it to comply with strict emission regulations in Europe and be available as a passenger vehicle with rear seats. Additionally, Suzuki has confirmed that a fully electric version of the Jimny is under development, and will arrive sometime before 2030.
