2025 BMW M5 Will Have A Bright, Illuminated Grille

  • BMW has released a new teaser image of the 2025 M5.
  • The company is staying tight-lipped, but confirmed the sedan is coming soon.
  • Power is expected to come from the XM’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo hybrid V8 with over 700 hp.

The wait is almost over as BMW has confirmed the redesigned M5 is coming soon. While the automaker didn’t give a date, they released a new teaser image and said testing has been completed.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9-9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”);
}
else{

adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”);
} });

The teaser is the biggest draw and it shows the model will have a large, illuminated grille. We can also get a glimpse at the head- and taillights, but everything else is covered by a sheet.

Of course, the design isn’t much of a surprise at this point as spy photographers have been snapping prototypes since January of 2022. As a result, we know the M5 will have an aggressive bumper with angular intakes and a pronounced front lip.

_taboola.push({
mode: ‘thumbnails-a-mid’,
container: ‘taboola-mid-article’,
placement: ‘Mid Article’,

They’ll be joined by sporty side skirts and lightweight wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system. Buyers will also find a sportier rear bumper and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

While BMW is keeping details under wraps, Chairman Oliver Zipse revealed the sedan will be launched first and then followed by the Touring. The latter will be offered in the United States for the first time.

Zipse also confirmed the M5 will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that will deliver more than 43 miles (70 km) of range on electricity alone. The company has been coy on specifics, but the model is expected to echo the XM Label and have a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, a lithium-ion battery pack, and an electric motor that is integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup gives the crossover a combined output of 738 hp (550 kW / 748 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque.
